Job Description
In this role, you will:
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, maintenance and fulfillment operations
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, vendors, and freight companies
- Strategically arrange the warehouse, catalog products and process shipments
- Checking orders, bills, items received, inventory, deliveries and returns for accuracy
- Hire and a lead a growing team of warehouse support employees
- Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations, including standards of health, safety, hygiene and security
- Setup warehouse to ensure efficient utilization of the space
- Build and scale VIAVIA’s standard operating procedures
- Prepare and maintain records, reporting relevant information
- Oversee periodic cycle counts, working closely with our finance team to ensure proper reconciliation
- Lead and coach a growing team through an inclusive lens, all while ensuring labor law compliance is being met.
- Ability to lead negotiations with carriers as needed.
- Wear multiple hats in a start-up environment – you will tackle other projects or assignments as needed to ensure VIAVIA continues its growth momentum
Your experiences and skills include:
- 5+ years experience in leadership in the warehouse, fulfillment or supply chain space. Experience inclusive of a modern third party logistics (“3PL”) company is preferred.
- Spanish language fluency is a major plus.
- Excellent understanding of e-commerce last mile delivery, of global and regional transportation and logistics, and of procurement and vendor management.
- Demonstrated experience in working with vendors for inbound and outbound shipments, including deliveries, customs clearance and more.
- Well versed in profit and loss reporting (“P&L’s”)
- Impeccable strategic thinker – able to anticipate upcoming trends and issues within the industry
- Experience with negotiations with carriers
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; can patiently and effectively communicate with a diverse and multicultural group of peers across time zones and continents
- You believe that feedback is a gift; you can receive and grow from feedback, and you are accustomed to providing thoughtful feedback to others to help them course correct, to grow and to reach new milestones
- Nimble, scrappy and adaptable with a high sense of urgency. Can roll with the punches and thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment, including pitching in to support other persons and teams

- Ability to travel as needed, including internationally
- Strong proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office programs, and inventory management programs
- This role can be physically demanding and requires the ability to regularly stand, walk, kneel, climb, stoop, push and pull, sometimes for extended periods of time. Additionally, this role requires the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
Compensation & benefits include:
- Competitive compensation, including generous equity in a well-funded environment. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 (USD). In the event a candidate is more qualified for a Senior Manager level role, the upper end of the compensation range is $130,000. Final compensation, job title and job level will depend on relevant factors such as professional experiences, location and relevant skill sets.
