Overview
Job Description
- Evaluate proposed arrangements with referral sources to assess compliance and mitigate risks.
- Ensure adherence to federal fraud, waste, and abuse laws as well as other healthcare regulations.
- Analyze referral source agreements, including medical director agreements, personal services agreements, leases, and transactions, ensuring they align with business rationale, partner selection criteria, and fair market value (FMV).
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including business clients, compliance colleagues, and legal teams, to address and resolve compliance concerns.
- Provide guidance on compliance with federal healthcare laws and regulations.
- Engage regularly with business leaders to integrate compliance principles into business practices.
- Manage special projects, prioritizing reviews based on business needs.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess compliance risks beyond specific agreements.
- Bachelor's degree required ( JD, LLM, or MSL a plus).
- Minimum of five years of experience as a healthcare legal or compliance professional.
- Deep understanding of healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse laws, particularly the Anti-Kickback Statute.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with business leaders.
- Demonstrated success in collaborative problem-solving across compliance, legal, and business functions.
- Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with Salesforce (preferred).
- On-site presence required at headquarters two days per week ( Tuesdays and Wednesdays ).
- Willingness to travel out-of-state at least once per year for conferences.
- Highly organized and efficient, with a strong ability to prioritize tasks.
- Extensive knowledge of healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse laws, including the Anti-Kickback Statute.
- Ability to articulate complex compliance concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in risk identification and mitigation strategies, leveraging data and systems for broader compliance objectives.
- Hands-on approach, demonstrating a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
- Strong ownership and accountability, focused on achieving strategic objectives.
- Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and business acumen.
- Open to constructive feedback and committed to continuous learning.
