The Solution Architect III will have a deep and insightful knowledge of technology and industry services surrounding one or more of the following Specialties: Large scale Cloud and Managed Services; IT Security; Data Protection Services; Networking and Interconnection; Professional Services; Hyperscale Cloud. The candidate will have a mastery of their specialty(ies) and their associated components and be considered an industry expert. They will be highly proficient in presenting complex solutions to potential customers, assisting customers and prospects in setting strategic direction, and speaking about concepts, products, and services at Industry Conferences, marketing events, and marketing materials.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Consult with SEs and SAs on specific areas where a depth of knowledge of technology or service is required. Work on solving complex customer issues and non-standard products and services to assist in a complete and innovative design to solve customer business issues.

  • Support sales and support teams nationally by providing technical expertise and design suggestions for a specified specialty, along with narratives that support the business impact of our recommendations

  • Maintain a high level of in-depth knowledge of all product offerings, industry trends, and technologies

  • Assist in formal presentations as an industry expert by providing deep-dive solutions and concepts to potential customers.

  • Attend technology conferences to represent Flexential and, at times, provide formal presentations on concepts and information in the capacity of an industry expert.

  • Consult with SEs and SAs on custom personalization and, where necessary, take a solution through the Technical Design Review process to get approval for the design of non-standard solution components.

  • Provide content creation for internal documentation

  • Run customer workshops to uncover critical business issues and assist the customer in creating a strategic direction for their IT roadmap

  • Attend QBRs and EBRs for existing strategic customers to uncover opportunities and set the future direction.

  • Assist in tool development to improve the productivity of the Solutions Engineering and Architecture teams

  • Be the focal point in specifically oriented Product Planks, gathering information from the field and passing it on to the Product Team to help formulate product direction and improve capabilities.

  • Provide training and knowledge transfer for internal Sales and Engineering resources

  • Support marketing as a subject matter expert in creating whitepapers, blogs, media responses, and other materials.

  • Perform other duties as required and assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 12-15 years of B2B Sales and/or support in the telecom, co-location, and/or managed hosting industry. BS and/or MS in an IT-related industry or equivalent preferred.

  • Must be technical, team-oriented, and have a documented path of success and contribution to a growing business in the consulting or managed IT services field

  • Must have the ability to consultatively grasp complex technical issues so they can clearly translate them into technical solutions that address and solve the underlying business needs

  • Solid understanding of multi-tier highly available environments based on one or more specialty areas with relation to architecture methodologies, with the ability to suggest optimized infrastructure changes to a given environment and make insightful recommendations towards architecture changes when appropriate

  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, driven, and have excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of Data Center Design, Construction, and Operations (first-hand experience is a plus)

  • Strong working knowledge of specific specialty area(s), Power Density, Air/Liquid Cooling, Conveyance, Cage, and Data Hall materials where applicable

  • Present and engage with high energy to large and small audiences with varying levels of technical and business acumen.

  • Credible as an industry expert in their specialty, customers/prospects will feel the SA truly understands their needs and can provide insight into solutions and plausible alternatives

  • Self-directed, self-motivated, and accomplishment-oriented - possesses the drive and determination to succeed.

  • Persistent but pragmatic: willing to be flexible and adaptable to change

  • Quick on feet - can address the challenges presented during sales conversations and provide value consistent with their level of aptitude

  • Easily adaptable to a fast-paced business environment

  • Ability to work remotely when required with sufficient workspace, cell phone connectivity, and an adequate Internet connection.

  • Ability to use the computer keyboard and mouse for extended periods

  • After-hours networking and customer interaction required

  • Travel may be required

Base Pay Range: Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $175,000 - $203,000. However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate's experience, location, and qualifications. This position is eligible for commission.
