We are calling all steel-savvy detailers! If you live for precision, love building in 3D, and know Tekla and AutoCAD like the back of your hand—we want you on our team in Burlington, NC. 

We’re on the lookout for a skilled and detail-obsessed Structural Steel Detailer to join our high-impact team. In this pivotal role, you’ll create precise fabrication and erection drawings using Tekla Structures and AutoCAD, interpret architectural and structural plans, and ensure AISC compliance. Your expertise will directly drive project accuracy, timelines, and client satisfaction. 

What You'll Be Doing (a.k.a. Your Superpowers): 

  • Craft detailed fabrication & erection drawings for structural & misc. steel components 
  • Read & Interpret complex architectural and structural plans like a steel whisperer 
  • Develop and manage 3D models + 2D shop drawings in Tekla Structures 
  • Collaborate with engineers, PMs, and shop teams to keep things smooth 
  • Prep drawings for approvals, permits, anchor rods & installations 
  • Manage part uploads and releases in our manufacturing system 
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with AISC standards and client expectations 
  • Engage in team meetings and project planning 

What You Bring to the Table: 

  • 3+ years of steel detailing experience (structural or miscellaneous) 
  • Knowledge Tekla Structures and AutoCAD—(Will train on Tekla) 
  • Solid understanding of AISC guidelines 
  • Bonus points if you’ve used SolidWorks or Rhino 
  • Detail-obsessed, organized, and a pro at managing your time 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specs 
  • Clear communicator and team player 

A Plus If You’ve: 

  • Worked on steel detailing for commercial, industrial, or custom steel projects 
  • Understand fabrication shop processes
