Essential Functions Assist in personal care (dressing/undressing, toileting, tub bath/shower, nails, hair care, shaving, hygiene, help with prosthetic devices, dentures, artificial limbs, hearing aids) of residents as individually needed. Daily, or as needed: make or turn down beds, empty trash, replace toilet tissue, offer clean towels and straighten/tidy room. Change bed lined in designated rooms. Wash residents personal clothing and return them to the resident’s room in a neat and organized way. Serve meals as assigned and assist in resetting the tables. Maintain food safety guidelines while assisting in food storage, prep and cleanup. Communicate any changes in condition of the resident to the LPN and Administrator. Attend/provide input for care plans. Complete assignment sheets daily noting unusual events and care unable to be provided. Distribute reminders for appointments to residents as directed. Maintain appropriate communication with resident’s family members. Be mindful of fire and safety procedures. Respond appropriately to emergencies. Caregiver/ Personal Care Assistant- Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide companionship and develop friendly relationships with seniors and their families
  • Help seniors with daily living tasks such as light housekeeping and meal preparation
  • Provide occasional transportation and accompany seniors to the grocery store, doctor appointments and pharmacy visits
  • Observe and report any changes in the senior’s mental, physical, or emotional condition or home situation to immediate supervisor
  • Maintain a trusting and comforting environment in the home
