Job Description
General Description:
The Science & Math department is looking for students to assist in the lab portion of Fall 2026 classes. Must have previously completed a lab course in the subject matter you will be assisting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend your assigned section and actively participate in the student learning process.
- Assist in the evaluation and assessment of lab reports as directed by the course instructor.
- Maintain confidentiality of all coursework and assignments, grades, and any material on any graded assignments throughout the course
- Aid the instructor during class, including supervising the lab, ensuring students perform activities correctly and helping to answer questions when possible
- Monitor and notify the instructor if supplies for future labs are low and need to be reordered
- Assist with lab prep and clean up
- Additional duties include cleaning and disinfecting the lab before and/or after labs
Position Requirements:
- Continued full-time student status (minimum of 12 credit hours).
- Successful completion of corresponding lab course with a grade of B or higher, preferably at Newman University.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Number of hours per week: 5
Rate of Pay: $8.25 per hour
