What success looks like Ensure that data pipelines and products produce reproducible results by owning CI test suites and versioning strategies for data models, dashboards, and reports Build reusable, scalable customer-facing analytics products, such as automated scientific reports and dashboards that can be configured and reused without custom engineering Improve user documentation and tooling to enable customers and internal scientists to use the analytics layer surface to answer new scientific questions Deploy and monitor analytics and feature computation services that transform raw biosignal data and clinical metadata to generate meaningful scientific results Collaborate with scientific subject matter experts, product managers, and customers to identify high-impact analytics improvements that accelerate therapy development What you will bring Extensive experience developing, testing, and maintaining SQL transformations to deliver reproducible analytic results in a production setting atop data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks Experience with dbt is a strong plus, but not required - we welcome candidates who are eager to learn Proficiency in a scientific programming language such as Julia, Python, or R A rigorous approach to documentation and automated testing Experience deploying automated analytics pipelines to a production environment, monitoring their performance, and maintaining them over time A collaborative mindset - you're excited to work closely with multiple teams to achieve Beacon's analytics product goals Strong asynchronous communication skills and a knack for making the most of synchronous collaboration Product-oriented intuition for turning individual stakeholder needs into configurable solutions and broadly applicable features Familiarity with or interest in learning about analyses that power clinical trials, clinical diagnostics, or other medical applications that leverage data organization, transformation, and statistics The base salary range for this role is determined based on past experience, specific skills and qualifications. The base salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes equity, PTO and other benefits. As our Head of Data & Analytics, you'll build and lead our data function during a pivotal growth phase. You'll be both player and coach – rolling up your sleeves for hands-on technical work while scaling a team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and data analysts. This role will shape how we leverage data to drive strategic decisions and accelerate our next phase of growth.

What you would do:

Build and scale the data team

  • Recruit and manage data engineers, analytics engineers, and data analysts

  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative culture focused on delivering actionable insights

  • Balance hands-on technical work with strategic leadership and team development

  • Establish scalable processes and best practices as the team grows

Drive data strategy and infrastructure

  • Own our data strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives

  • Design scalable data pipelines, architecture, and governance using modern tools like BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, Amplitude and Looker

  • Partner with engineering to enhance product telemetry and data collection

  • Implement data quality frameworks and monitoring systems

Enable data-driven decision making

  • Work with product, sales, marketing, and leadership teams to deliver insights that drive business outcomes

  • Build dashboards and self-service analytics capabilities

  • Lead strategic analyses on customer behavior, product adoption, and business performance

  • Translate complex data into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders

About you:

  • Based in: East Coast of North America or Europe

  • Experience: 5+ years in data roles with 3+ years building and scaling data teams at a fast-growing SaaS startup

  • Leadership: Drive to create change and ability to define strategy to develop Data and Analytics requirements and priorities. Proven ability to execute

  • Business acumen: Deep understanding of SaaS metrics and how data drives business strategy

  • Communication: Outstanding ability to influence stakeholders and translate technical concepts into business insights

  • Ownership mindset: High accountability and sense of urgency with bias toward action and problem-solving – able to do IC work when needed

  • Technical expertise: Strong in SQL, Python, data modeling, and modern data stack (we use BigQuery, dbt, Airflow, Looker)
