The Associate General Counsel- Litigation & Dispute Resolution will lead Oshkosh Corporation's global litigation, claims and dispute management strategy, with the exception of labor and employment matters. Reporting to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, the Associate General Counsel- Litigation & Dispute Resolution will oversee product and general liability claims, commercial disputes, intellectual property disputes, government investigations and regulatory enforcement matters across multiple business segments and geographies. YOUR IMPACT Litigation, Claims and Dispute Management: Lead and manage the Company's litigation and dispute portfolio on both domestic and foreign matters. Drive case strategy from early assessment through resolution, including risk analysis, discovery strategy, motion practice oversight, settlement negotiations/mediation, trial and appeals, when necessary. Establish and maintain a disciplined early case assessment process, including factual development, exposure analysis and recommended resolution. Government Investigations and Regulatory Enforcement: Direct responses to investigations, subpoenas and enforcement actions, coordinating privileged workstreams, preservation and remediation with internal stakeholders and outside counsel. Enterprise Risk Mitigation and Business Partnership: Proactively partner with segment and functional business leaders to anticipate, prevent and reduce disputes including through practical guidance, playbooks and escalation protocols aligned to business objectives. Train and advise internal stakeholders on litigation readiness, preservation obligations and effective business practices that reduce dispute risk. Outside Counsel, Spend Management and Reserves: Select and supervise outside counsel and strategically manage outside counsel spend, including budget development, matter scoping and alternative fee arrangements. Coordinate litigation reserves/accruals and reporting with Finance, ensuring appropriate documentation and governance. Policies, Procedures and Program Improvements: Own and continuously improve litigation-related policies, procedures and controls, including intake/triage, holds, record retention and discovery workflows, matter management tools and stakeholder training. Develop relevant KPIs and reporting (e.g., cycle time, outcomes, spend v. budget, top risk matters and root-cause drivers). Create and deploy standardized approaches for recurring dispute types to improve outcomes, speed and consistency. People and Cross-Functional Leadership: Directly manage a team of paralegals and provide leadership and coordination across internal stakeholders to set priorities, develop capabilities and ensure high-quality execution across the litigation function. Deliver clear, concise updates and recommendations to business leaders regarding material matters, trends and risk posture. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Juris Doctorate degree from Accredited Law School 8-10 years of litigation and investigation experience, including in a corporate setting Three (3) or more years of management experience Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction within the United States Ability to travel 25% STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS Litigation experience in product liability cases. Litigation experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, aerospace/defense, heavy equipment or similarly regulated product company. Experience with multi-jurisdiction litigation management. Ability to identify and analyze relevant legal issues, draft key documents, present clear and concise recommendations, and ensure legal compliance. Significant experience drafting and negotiating complex, global agreements. Keen business and financial acumen; ability to scope and scale to the needs of the company and department. Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills and proven success in presenting complex information to various levels within an organization. Pay Range: $155,800.00 - $288,200.00 The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. The Associate General Counsel- Litigation & Dispute Resolution will lead Oshkosh Corporation's global litigation, claims and dispute management strategy, with the exception of labor and employment matters. Reporting to the Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, the Associate General Counsel- Litigation & Dispute Resolution will oversee product and general liability claims, commercial disputes, intellectual property disputes, government investigations and regulatory enforcement matters across multiple business segments and geographies.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Litigation, Claims and Dispute Management: Lead and manage the Company's litigation and dispute portfolio on both domestic and foreign matters. Drive case strategy from early assessment through resolution, including risk analysis, discovery strategy, motion practice oversight, settlement negotiations/mediation, trial and appeals, when necessary. Establish and maintain a disciplined early case assessment process, including factual development, exposure analysis and recommended resolution.
  • Government Investigations and Regulatory Enforcement: Direct responses to investigations, subpoenas and enforcement actions, coordinating privileged workstreams, preservation and remediation with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
  • Enterprise Risk Mitigation and Business Partnership: Proactively partner with segment and functional business leaders to anticipate, prevent and reduce disputes including through practical guidance, playbooks and escalation protocols aligned to business objectives. Train and advise internal stakeholders on litigation readiness, preservation obligations and effective business practices that reduce dispute risk.
  • Outside Counsel, Spend Management and Reserves: Select and supervise outside counsel and strategically manage outside counsel spend, including budget development, matter scoping and alternative fee arrangements. Coordinate litigation reserves/accruals and reporting with Finance, ensuring appropriate documentation and governance.
  • Policies, Procedures and Program Improvements: Own and continuously improve litigation-related policies, procedures and controls, including intake/triage, holds, record retention and discovery workflows, matter management tools and stakeholder training. Develop relevant KPIs and reporting (e.g., cycle time, outcomes, spend v. budget, top risk matters and root-cause drivers). Create and deploy standardized approaches for recurring dispute types to improve outcomes, speed and consistency.
  • People and Cross-Functional Leadership: Directly manage a team of paralegals and provide leadership and coordination across internal stakeholders to set priorities, develop capabilities and ensure high-quality execution across the litigation function. Deliver clear, concise updates and recommendations to business leaders regarding material matters, trends and risk posture.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Juris Doctorate degree from Accredited Law School
  • 8-10 years of litigation and investigation experience, including in a corporate setting
  • Three (3) or more years of management experience
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction within the United States
  • Ability to travel 25%

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Litigation experience in product liability cases.
  • Litigation experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, aerospace/defense, heavy equipment or similarly regulated product company.
  • Experience with multi-jurisdiction litigation management.
  • Ability to identify and analyze relevant legal issues, draft key documents, present clear and concise recommendations, and ensure legal compliance.
