What You'll Do: Immerse in client challenges. Understand the brand, business, and audience goals. Do the research. Conduct competitive, industry research, client stakeholder discovery, site reviews and analysis, analytics reviews. Create the architectural foundation of large-scale websites. Create sitemaps that account for all pages on a website. Support your sitemap with page-specific content outlines when appropriate, and account for all fields/data that will comprise key pages. Contribute to wireframe development. Bring website architecture to life through Figma-based wireframe development. Collaborate with digital agency peers. Leidos’ Defense Systems Land Systems Sector is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to join our collaborative matrix organization that supports multiple programs across various business areas in Leidos Defense.

This Software Engineer role requires strong background in modern web technologies and full- stack development. The ideal candidate will be experienced in building responsive front-end applications (React, TypeScript) and scalable back-end services (C#, Python, or Node.js), with proficiency in containerization tools such as Docker or Podman. Preferred candidates will bring experience developing or integrating AI and computer vision capabilities into web-based or edge-deployed applications. This role operates within an Agile/Scrum team environment focused on delivering robust, mission-driven software solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field with 4+ years of prior relevant work experience or Master’s degree in related field with at least 2+ years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience in designing and maintaining software products and implementing software designs.

  • Experience in software development, data structures, object-oriented design, and effective unit testing.

  • Experience with software best practices such as peer reviews and document generation.

  • Experience with Javascript

  • Experience with containerization technologies

  • Experience working in Agile or scrum environment

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments while managing multiple priorities.

  • U.S Citizenship required and must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with computer vision or AI is a plus

  • Experience leading scrum teams is a plus
