Associate Motion/Production Designer Responsibilities: Conceptualize and develop visual content, including graphics, motion, animation, and video for online instructional use Work closely with the Instructional Design and broader UX team, including writers, designers, and researchers, on storytelling to define and create safe, effective, and delightful learning experiences Work in a fast-paced agile environment with cross-functional teams, generating motion graphics and video learning that tells a story and engages our audience Work with User Research and Human Factors team to iteratively test early concepts and apply user-centered design best practices to our work. What you will do: Execute quality assurance activities for new product development within Stryker's global Digital Health Portfolio, focusing on Acute Care in the Medical Division. Collaborate on software design, development, and validation strategies, ensuring documentation aligns with Quality Management Systems compliance requirements. Partner with cross-functional teams, including marketing, R&D, clinical, regulatory, and operations, to deliver quality, compliant products. Oversee risk management using ISO14971 standards to ensure product safety, including defining critical quality attributes, assessing residual risks, and presenting risk/benefit justifications to executive leadership. Drive continuous improvement across the software lifecycle by implementing software industry best practices and regulatory standards (FDA, TGA, EUMDR, IT). Implement standard development practices, promoting methodologies like SAFe for mobile and cloud-based solutions to enhance efficiency and compliance. Ensure cybersecurity, data privacy, and interoperability are integrated into digital product design, reviewing software artifacts for compliance and traceability. What you need: Required: Bachelor's degree in a science or engineering. Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in the highly regulated medical device industry, with a focus in one or more of the following areas: Research & Development (R&D), Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering. Proven expertise navigating regulatory frameworks such as FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304, with direct experience designing, developing, and maintaining compliant systems and processes. Extensive experience supporting Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), Software in a Medical Device (SiMD), or Digital Health and Telehealth solutions, ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards and patient safety requirements. Proficient in navigating the full software development lifecycle using methodologies such as Agile (including SAFe) and Waterfall. Experience with software Failure Modes Effect Analysis (sFMEA), Security Risk Assessments and defect management, software verification/validation. Experience with software technologies across mobile, cloud, and AI/ML domains, including development and deployment on iOS and Android devices, as well as platforms such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Apple ecosystems. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science. Cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, Security+, or equivalent) or demonstrated experience in secure software development, with a strong foundation in risk management methodologies and the creation and maintenance of detailed Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs). 100,500.00 to 215,300.00 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. We are looking for a creative, user-focused Motion/Production Designer to develop dynamic digital learning experiences. We're re-imagining how our customers learn to use our products through innovation in our product training methods, learning materials, user guides, and embedded mobile learning.

Associate Motion/Production Designer Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and develop visual content, including graphics, motion, animation, and video for online instructional use

  • Work closely with the Instructional Design and broader UX team, including writers, designers, and researchers, on storytelling to define and create safe, effective, and delightful learning experiences

  • Work in a fast-paced agile environment with cross-functional teams, generating motion graphics and video learning that tells a story and engages our audience

  • Work with User Research and Human Factors team to iteratively test early concepts and apply user-centered design best practices to our work. Proactively engage with research to drive testing of your concepts.

  • Present design concepts and user experience vision in a compelling and positive manner (storyboards, prototypes, wireframes, or interactive presentations) to all levels of the company-from tactical agile software teams to executive leadership and to our customers.

  • Collaborate with Clinical and Human Factors to ensure our designs are safe and effective and meet regulatory agency guidelines for a medical device experience but hold a high bar on how we can delight the user as well.

  • Contribute to corporate UX/ID design language development, standards, and frameworks as our brand evolves.

  • Contribute to tactical and innovation instructional design initiatives within an agile environment on digital learning experiences for the UX Instructional Design (ID) team.

  • Be mentored by Sr staff in all aspects of UX/ID work to grow and develop as a motion/production designer.

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in UX, web, and mobile design, ideally with a focus on developing and implementing customer-centric products, with video, motion, and animation design

  • Strong portfolio required with strong storytelling and presentation skills

  • Intellectual curiosity, including the willingness to dig in and learn more about things

  • Ability to prototype when necessary preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ongoing US travel as needed (at least once per quarter)

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $69,450.00 - $104,175.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
