Position Description We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior full stack Engineer within our Capacity and workload management organization. This role is within the capacity management platform team, and its goal is to build a full stack platform to address the infrastructure demand, capacity and quota needs of a hybrid cloud environment. The platform would be built using open-source technologies and would be scalable to handle Geico's growing infrastructure needs. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between and is willing to contribute across the stack depending on the needs of the team. We would also prefer the candidate to have good insights into capacity management within Hybrid cloud. Position Responsibilities As a Senior Engineer, you will: Contribute towards the development of intuitive and responsive UI's using ReactJS, Typescript and BootstrapJS within a Django framework ensuring seamless integration with backend microservices. Design and Implement loosely coupled microservices that are API-driven using Python,Django,and Golang, as well as event-driven microservices using Kafka and Apache spark for backend data processing. Work closely with engineering leads, product owners and other engineers to gather requirements, break them down into actionable tasks, and build a well-defined backlog that captures the implementation details and timelines. Contribute to all layers of the technology stack, including UX and UI development, backend service implementation and DevOps tasks based on team's need and priorities. Contribute towards the development of Microfrontends backed by microservices and work with other teams to integrate them with their single page web applications. Ensure seamless integration of backend microservices with front-end applications leveraging both RESTful API's and gRPC for efficient communication between the layers. Provide technical and thought leadership across multiple areas, focusing on the design and implementation of UI and backend API integration. Take ownership of delivering high quality performant and maintainable code with a focus on meeting deadlines and aligning with the overall architecture and design specifications. Continuously explore and adopt new technologies, frameworks and best practices to improve the development process, enhance system performance to deliver the best customer experience. Maintain clear and concise communication with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and other engineers in the team. About This Job Are you a relentless hacker who sees a login page as a challenge and an API endpoint as an invitation? We're not looking for someone who knows how to run SAST, DAST, or point-and-click scanners. We're hiring an elite technical offensive security expert - a hacker who lives in Burp Suite, thinks in curl, and sees an API schema as a playground. In this role, you'll simulate real-world adversaries, uncover security flaws across our web applications and APIs, and work closely with engineering to harden the systems that power our platform. If your favorite tools have names like ffuf, jwt_tool, custom Python scripts, and your brain, we're ready to talk. Whether you specialize in bypassing authentication, exploiting misconfigured CORS policies, or finding logic flaws that scanners can't, we want your mindset, your creativity, and your technical firepower. This position is on-site at any of our office locations (San Diego CA, Irvine CA, Los Angeles CA, Las Vegas NV, Centennial CO, Omaha NE, Overland Park KS, Edison NJ) or 100% Remote, depending upon your location. Responsibilities: Break real applications: Perform targeted, manual security testing of production-grade web apps and APIs - REST, GraphQL, gRPC, internal and public-facing Simulate adversaries: Go beyond OWASP Top 10 - find logic flaws, auth bypasses, data leakage, and chained exploits Red team mindset: Think like an attacker. Design and execute your own kill chains. Document it so even a backend dev gets it Code-aware exploitation: You don't need the source, but if you had it, you'd read it like a map to the treasure Outthink security controls: WAF? Rate limits? Auth tokens? Good. We want someone who thrives when blocked Go deep on abuse cases: Find the obscure. The unintended. The "shouldn't happen but does" kind of bugs Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred 5+ years in information security, including 2+ years in application security roles. Extensive experience designing and securing APIs in high-scale, cloud-native environments. Position Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior full stack Engineer within our Capacity and workload management organization. This role is within the capacity management platform team, and its goal is to build a full stack platform to address the infrastructure demand, capacity and quota needs of a hybrid cloud environment. The platform would be built using open-source technologies and would be scalable to handle Geico's growing infrastructure needs. The ideal candidate has broad and deep technical knowledge, typically ranging from front-end UIs through back-end systems and all points in between and is willing to contribute across the stack depending on the needs of the team. We would also prefer the candidate to have good insights into capacity management within Hybrid cloud.

Position Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you will:

  • Contribute towards the development of intuitive and responsive UI's using ReactJS, Typescript and BootstrapJS within a Django framework ensuring seamless integration with backend microservices.

  • Design and Implement loosely coupled microservices that are API-driven using Python,Django,and Golang, as well as event-driven microservices using Kafka and Apache spark for backend data processing.

  • Work closely with engineering leads, product owners and other engineers to gather requirements, break them down into actionable tasks, and build a well-defined backlog that captures the implementation details and timelines.

  • Contribute to all layers of the technology stack, including UX and UI development, backend service implementation and DevOps tasks based on team's need and priorities.

  • Contribute towards the development of Microfrontends backed by microservices and work with other teams to integrate them with their single page web applications.

  • Ensure seamless integration of backend microservices with front-end applications leveraging both RESTful API's and gRPC for efficient communication between the layers.

  • Provide technical and thought leadership across multiple areas, focusing on the design and implementation of UI and backend API integration.

  • Take ownership of delivering high quality performant and maintainable code with a focus on meeting deadlines and aligning with the overall architecture and design specifications.

  • Continuously explore and adopt new technologies, frameworks and best practices to improve the development process, enhance system performance to deliver the best customer experience.

  • Maintain clear and concise communication with cross-functional teams, stakeholders and other engineers in the team.

Qualifications

  • Advanced expertise on back-end programming languages with Python, Golang, Java, docker/K8s.

  • Advanced programming experience on front-end technologies with Django,ReactJS,Typescript, Bootstrap JS,Redux, and Jest.

  • Advanced understanding of building microservices using REST or gRPC and integrating them with frontend UI.

  • Advanced understanding of micro-frontend architecture with client-side composition methods

  • Experience building architecture, design patterns, reliability, security and scaling of new and existing web applications.

  • Experience in creating structural micro-frontend applications within a single page application

  • Expertise in developing event driven microservices using Kafka and Apache spark

  • Understanding of existing monitoring concepts and tooling

  • Understanding of DevOps Concepts and Cloud Architecture

  • Understanding of Azure platform and its native services.

  • Preferred experience on building applications/solutions for capacity management.

  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CICD)

  • Knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms

  • Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, operations, real-time communication)

  • Strong problem-solving ability

  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment

Experience

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience using modern technologies and framework such as Django, Python, Kotlin/Java, ReactJS

  • 3+ years of experience with architecture and design

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service

  • 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks

  • 2+ years of experience with relational or no-SQL DB like PostgreSQL, Cassandra or MongoDB.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience

Annual Salary

$105,000.00 - $215,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
