You’ll assist with creating construction plans for sites that can include site layout, grading, stormwater, and utilities in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Consider product cost drivers and work to provide designs that are value oriented, meeting the customer requirements at the lowest cost. Active participant in the customer sample process as well as engineering prototypes. Test, analyze or otherwise establish the functional parameters of new products and document accordingly. Evaluate existing product designs and propose value engineering ideas for management consideration. Create designs in 3D CAD and, from that, develop visual renderings, production drawings, and assembly instructions. Assist packaging engineering in developing packaging methods. Assist Quality Assurance in determining if product meets the intended quality parameters, including adherence to drawing dimensions and tolerances. QUALIFICATIONS Must possess good communications skills and be comfortable dealing with diverse groups and individuals throughout the organization. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Job Description

Our Site Design team provides design services for retail, commercial, mixed-use, and residential land development projects, along with industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types. As a civil engineering student intern, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You’ll be part of our team, working for our clients on projects with our most experienced engineers. You’ll assist with creating construction plans for sites that can include site layout, grading, stormwater, and utilities in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. You may also perform research, write technical reports, and travel to job sites.
