We have an exciting opportunity for a Summer 2026 -Mechanical Design and Testing Internto join the team! The Mechanical Design

This is a temporary role not to exceed 12 weeks.

TheSummer 2026 -Mechanical Design and Testing Internwill:

• Support Facilities and Testing Division activities at Johnson Space Center
• Work in a team environment to assist with analyze requirements from the customer and assist with develop design solutions
• Assist with design unique tests fixtures and methods for other test programs
• Assist to support system documentation such as procedures and hazard analyses
• Assist with engineering design evaluations and testing on space hardware
• Assist with dimensional fit analysis and functional analyses, when applicable, and sizing structural analyses
• Prepare and present designs at various design reviews using MS Word and PowerPoint
• Support with gathering and documenting test requirements and design documentation
• Support hardware testing activities when applicable
• Assist with reviewing and organizing data
• Support identification and documentation of technical risks
• Participate in technical review discussions
• Learn about fuel cell membrane electrode assembly fabrication and process
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requisition Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited university.
• Completed at least 45 credit hours.
• Minimum of 2.8 GPA

Requisition Preferences:

• Knowledgeable in high-pressure mechanical systems and fuel cells

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).

Attendance

Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
