Topcon’s Institute for Digital Health (IDHea) is crucial part of Topcon’s Healthcare from the eye initiative. Its mission is to accelerate research and innovation by democratizing access to unique real-world and clinical trial data.The IDHea web portal serves as the entry point for researchers to access unique ocular data designed for AI research and innovation, driving breakthroughs in healthcare applications that improve outcomes in ocular and systemic diseases.

We are seeking a highly skilled Web Developer to contribute to the development and evolution of this platform. The Web Developer will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust, scalable, and user-friendly web portal. This role requires expertise in both front-end and back-end development, with a strong emphasis on Angular, Node.js, and TypeScript. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across the entire web stack and will collaborate closely with a cross-functional team across product, marketing, clinical science and other groups to deliver high-quality digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop responsive and dynamic user interfaces using Angular and TypeScript
  • Build scalable back-end services using Node.js and TypeScript
  • Integrate RESTful APIs and ensure seamless data flow between front-end and back-end systems
  • Design and extend content models to support evolving portal features
  • Implement and maintain structured data using relational databases
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver product features
  • Apply best practices in code quality, performance optimization, and security
  • Utilize Azure services for deployment and cloud-based application management
  • Leverage Docker for containerization and development workflows (preferred)
  • Explore and integrate Content Management Systems (CMS) as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience as a web developer
  • Proven experience with Angular, Node.js, and TypeScript
  • Strong understanding of front-end and back-end integration
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services and deployment fundamentals
  • Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Docker and containerized development
  • Exposure to CMS platforms such as Strapi, Contentful, or WordPress
  • Experience with UX and UI designs for web portals.

Base Pay:

Expected Base Pay Range: $100,000 to $135,000 Annualized

The base pay range included is a projected hiring range for a position, level and potential work location(s) listed.  Topcon provides the compensation range that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.   

Bonus eligible:

 In addition to base pay, compensation for this position includes eligibility for a 5% annual bonus.
