Duties and Responsibilities: Use AutoCAD and Inventor software to generate Shop drawing, Field drawing and layouts. Program parts for Water Jet using Optimization Nesting Software Solicit feedback from production personnel; trouble shoot production problems relating to part design criteria Maintain and update product design criteria as necessary Provide feedback to sales and submittal departments regarding design criteria Provide technical support to Sales, Submittals, and Manufacturing as required Research new and improved construction methods for continued product improvement Train personnel in product designs, as required Assist in standardizing selection criteria for parts Properly maintain drawing system integrity in product data management system Work independently to complete groups of drawing projects with good documentation and organization. Design Drafter

Precision Industrial Contractors, Inc. is seeking a FT Detailer/Drafter for immediate hire.

Create and design Shop and Field drawings, structures, fabricated parts/assy's for new and existing product, facilities and equipment. Provide Assembly drawings, Shop drawings and layouts reflecting concern for function, costs, manufacturability, and quality. This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager of the business unit and is responsible for working from 2D and 3D models or blueprints to generate models, flat patterns, parts for the Laser/Water Jet cutting and press brake machines. Position will have frequent contact with persons in manufacturing, the mechanical design team, sales, and management personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use AutoCAD and Inventor software to generate Shop drawing, Field drawing and layouts.
  • Program parts for Water Jet using Optimization Nesting Software
  • Solicit feedback from production personnel; trouble shoot production problems relating to part design criteria
  • Maintain and update product design criteria as necessary
  • Provide feedback to sales and submittal departments regarding design criteria
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Submittals, and Manufacturing as required
  • Research new and improved construction methods for continued product improvement
  • Train personnel in product designs, as required
  • Assist in standardizing selection criteria for parts
  • Properly maintain drawing system integrity in product data management system
  • Work independently to complete groups of drawing projects with good documentation and organization.

Qualifications, Education, and Experience:

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D engineering standards
  • 3D Mechanical/Design drafting experience
  • Experience working in a production environment
  • Must Pass a Pre-employment drug screen
  • Associates Degree - prefer Drafting Technology or Mechanical Engineering, OR
  • High School Diploma/GED + Vocational Training in CAD
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant Mechanical/Structural drafting experience
  • Architectural background highly beneficial for position
