Responsibilities and Tasks: Design Engineering and technical coordination tasks include, but are not limited to the following: " Design appropriate drawings for cost-effective substation layouts, grounding, lighting, cable plans, bill of materials, etc. " Review physical design drawing packages, perform electrical & mechanical calculations, and perform other engineering studies as required. " Have basic protection design knowledge to help review P&C schematic drawings in physical & electrical accuracy. " Coordinate cross functional teams including engineers, designers, field personnel, and external stakeholders. " Help schedule and coordinate activities of purchasing, drafting, and construction of substation equipment components. " Create, review, and manage project deliverables such as design packages, reports, calculations, vendor equipment drawings, and construction documentation. " Help facilitate client communication, project meetings, and status updates to ensure alignment and satisfaction. " Support field activities including site assessments and data collection as needed. " Provide consulting services to other groups in matters pertaining to system protective device coordination and/or automation. " Ensure compliance with industry standards, engineering codes, company policies, applicable regulations, and customer standards. " Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve technical and operational problems effectively. " Promote collaboration, team cohesion, organization, and attention to detail in all project phases. Requirements: " 4-7 years of substation design engineering or power delivery engineering experience for transmission, and/or distribution systems (both is a plus) " Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university required " PE Electrical and Computer: Power Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) " Strong leadership and communication skills with an emphasis on collaboration " Solid understanding of substation design principles (physical, electrical, protection & control) " Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously " Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and PDF software " Experience working with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Microstation, etc. is a plus " Strong focus on collaboration with team members and meticulous attention to detail " Although primarily office-based, the role may occasionally involve fieldwork
