The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and supporting various accounting functions. This individual will be responsible for complex accounting activities, including month-end close procedures, general ledger reconciliations, financial analysis, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant will work closely with other departments and contribute to process improvements and special projects. Month-End/Quarter-End/Year-End Close: Execute and review general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines. Analyze and explain fluctuations in financial accounts. Prepare and review supporting schedules and documentation for financial reporting. Participate in the audit process by preparing requested documentation and responding to auditor inquiries. General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger. Perform detailed account analysis and resolve discrepancies. Ensure proper classification of financial transactions. Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and company policies. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Document accounting policies and procedures. Analysis & Support: Conduct financial analysis to support management decision-making. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., FP&A, Treasury, Tax) to provide accounting insights and support. Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed. Mentorship & Development: May provide guidance and support to more junior accounting staff. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Accounting. Master's degree or CPA designation preferred. 3-5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience. Preferably 2 years experience in a public company environment or Big 4 experience. Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Proficiency in financial accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas). Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance. Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across departments. Internal Controls & Process Improvement:

  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls and company policies.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and automation within the accounting function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Document accounting policies and procedures.

Analysis & Support:

  • Conduct financial analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., FP&A, Treasury, Tax) to provide accounting insights and support.
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed.

Mentorship & Development:

  • May provide guidance and support to more junior accounting staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Accounting. Master's degree or CPA designation preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience. Preferably 2 years experience in a public company environment or Big 4 experience.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in financial accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas).
  • Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance.
