Develop and execute Manufacturing Feasibility Studies and DFM/DFA reviews for lighting components and assemblies. Drive timing and deliverables for manufacturing readiness in line with program milestones. Design and develop manufacturing processes for lighting assemblies, including: Plastic injection molding Ultrasonic and vibration welding Sealing, gluing, and lens bonding Thermal management Automated assembly and testing systems Define process flow diagrams, line layouts, work instructions, and equipment specifications. Lead process validations (e.g., Run at Rate, PV builds, capability studies, Gage R&R), solving critical process issue at launch. Support mold and fixture design reviews for complex lighting components (e.g., clear lenses, reflectors). Manage sourcing, FAT/SAT, and commissioning new equipment. Ensure tools and machines meet safety, quality, capacity, and productivity targets. Work closely with product design engineering, quality, purchasing, and operations to ensure manufacturability. Coordinate with suppliers and integrators for automation and tooling development. Participate in PFMEA development and implementation of control plans. Lead manufacturing proposal with manufacturing assumptions for customer RFQ Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through process design and lean principles, meeting project finance target. Ensure designs support DFMA principles and future automation scalability. Support scrap and rework reduction efforts during launch ramp-up. Ensure adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 9001, customer-specific requirements, and internal quality systems. Participate in internal audits and support corrective actions as needed. Experience with LED lighting assembly, optical alignment, and thermal management preferred. Familiarity with automotive OEM requirements (e.g., Ford GPDS, GM GVDP, Honda SQAM) preferred. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and error-proofing techniques preferred. Strong project management and supplier coordination skills preferred. YOUR KEY ATTRIBUTES   Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in automotive lighting, injection molding, or automated assembly environments. Fluent in English and Chinese a plus. Experience with APQP, PFMEA, PPAP, and process validation. Strong knowledge of tooling, fixturing, automation, and plant layout optimization. Proficient in CAD (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks), MS Office, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab). Hands-on experience launching new products in a Tier-1 or Tier-2 automotive environment.
