Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for new admissions and ongoing patients.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans tailored to patients' needs, including medication management and therapeutic interventions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatric nurses, social workers, and therapists, to provide coordinated care.
  • Conduct daily rounds to monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and provide necessary interventions.
  • Provide crisis intervention and management for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms.
  • Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with facility protocols and regulatory requirements.- Participate in treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress, treatment strategies, and discharge planning.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and stay current with best practices in psychiatric care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options and resources.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with completion of a residency in Psychiatry.- Board certification in Psychiatry is required.- Valid medical license in the state of New Jersey.- Experience in inpatient psychiatric care is preferred.- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care and collaboration.- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.- Commitment to ethical practice, professionalism, and patient confidentiality.
