    Performs inspections, measurements and tests on incoming materials, in-process and finished products to insure quality requirements are being met and processes are operating in control throughout the manufacturing process. 

    • General
      • Performs inspections, measurements and tests on product and processes at various stages within the manufacturing process (machining and/or forging), including at setup, to determine product and/or material conformance to requirements and specifications.
        • Collects samples for testing, inspection and measurement
        • Perform and conduct material and metallurgical testing
        • Preparation of metallurgical reports
      • Reads, analyzes and uses drawings and blueprints, sample data and other materials in order to determine conformance to requirements of processes, materials and products
      • Setup and use various types of inspection and measurement equipment to validate product and process conformance to requirements and specifications
      • Notifies supervisor or specified personnel of product or process deviations from specifications or requirements
      • Affixes stamps, tags, labels to the appropriate containers or pallets to identify product inspection or acceptability status as necessary
      • Routes nonconforming materials to containment area or to sorting/inspection
