Summary: The Automation Technician is a skilled professional who designs, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots automated systems and equipment. They work with programmable logic controllers (PLC), human interfaces (HMI), and other technologies to optimize production processes and ensure systems run efficiently and reliably. Must wear safety glasses, metatarsal toe shoes (ESD-Composite toe, leather top) and hearing protection when in plant. Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Read and interpret equipment manuals blue prints and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Must possess an understanding of electronic and mechanical components to troubleshoot and repair. Complies with all OSHA safety and health regulations. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or GED Equivalency Required Ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively with Managers, supervisors, and peers. Experience maintaining a continuously operated chemical process. Experience with LOTO. 3 years minimum automation experience Computer interface experience (MS Suite, MI Software, SAP). Job Summary Material Handling Technician I role encompasses four different indirect labor positions: Receiving, Shipping, Parts Warehouse, and Driver. Receiving: Responsible for verifying counts of incoming and outgoing materials, receiving purchase orders, distributing products to required departments, and moving parts to appropriate work centers. Shipping : Responsible for pulling, packing and preparing finished good for final shipping to customers; refilling product bins with incoming inventory; and receiving product into the warehouse. Parts Warehouse: Responsible for issuing manufacturing orders for Production. This includes issuing kits to final assembly and maintaining accuracy of component parts. In addition, responsible for maintaining inventory of knife components. Driver: Responsible for transporting finished goods and raw materials between warehouse locations within a specific timeframe. The driver will drive box truck safely and responsibly to and from company locations. They will load and unload materials and finished goods from a truck individually or as part of a team, verifying and transacting loads for accuracy. Job Functions Manage inventory electronically using Syspro MRP system (and other computer applications). Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials in stock; records location of inventory. Perform cycle counts of inventory. Provides excellent service to customers (internal stakeholders) and vendors. Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely to move parts and inventory to proper locations. Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; and able to identify when lock out, tag out is appropriate. Display keen awareness to safety guidelines, procedures, and policies; and ability to identify and report safety concerns. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Support on-going reporting of key performance metrics. Display job specific competency as defined by training proficiency matrixes. Contributes ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures. Other duties as assigned. Material Handling Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and 3-4 years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment is required. Equivalency or the qualification standard will also be considered. Able to work in a manufacturing environment (exposure to noise, coolants, abrasives, heat, cold, adhesives, automated and manual machinery) wearing PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, and Kevlar gloves). Familiarity with MRP systems and performing inventory transactions. Basic understanding of inventory controls and cycle counting. Strong computer and data entry skills required (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Good verbal and written communication skills, with co-workers, internal customers and vendors. Demonstrate great attendance, punctuality, and time sensitivity. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and multi-task accurately. Quality-conscious individual with excellent attention to detail. Must be able to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines. Works well in a collaborative and positive team environment. Forklift certification preferred. Additional Qualifications for Driver: A valid Drivers' license with a clean driving record (CDL is not required). Ability to follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and /or agency rules, standards, and guidelines. At least 25 years old (at time of application) due to insurance requirements. Summary:

The Automation Technician is a skilled professional who designs, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots automated systems and equipment. They work with programmable logic controllers (PLC), human interfaces (HMI), and other technologies to optimize production processes and ensure systems run efficiently and reliably.

Your main tasks:

  • Understanding of PLC principles, understanding of HMI
  • Report issues to Maintenance Engineering of all findings (both new and existing processes). Provide technical support
  • Initial and periodic review / editing (through Management of change, MOC program
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair automated equipment.
  • Understands that performing job tasks in a safe manner is the highest priority.
  • Understands company safety. Initiates and acts as facilitator on the floor to promote those initiatives.
  • Create and maintain documentation for automated systems including schematics, manuals, and operating procedures as needed.
  • Responsible for housekeeping and 5S in his or her respective area of work or areas as directed by the departmental supervisor.
  • Completes preventative maintenance sheets issued by scheduler/planner, maintenance lead mechanic, supervisor or maintenance manager.
  • Inspects plant equipment for proper working conditions and safe operation.
  • Uses CMMS Maintenance System to document work order. Records all parts needed for repairs. Records all parts used for repairs.
  • Reduce unplanned stoppages through effective Root Cause Analysis and keeps accurate record of downtime of plant equipment.
  • Issues work requests for issues needing attention when equipment is down.
  • Cultivate (through active participation in the team) an environment that helps to build and strengthen the team concept and sets the culture of that Zero Safety Incidents, Zero Quality Defects, and Zero Preventable Stoppages is achievable.
  • Must wear safety glasses, metatarsal toe shoes (ESD-Composite toe, leather top) and hearing protection when in plant.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals blue prints and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Must possess an understanding of electronic and mechanical components to troubleshoot and repair.
  • Complies with all OSHA safety and health regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or GED Equivalency Required
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing effectively with Managers,    supervisors, and peers.
  • Experience maintaining a continuously operated chemical process.
  • Experience with LOTO.
  • 3 years minimum automation experience
  • Computer interface experience (MS Suite, MI Software, SAP).
  • Associate’s degree in maintenance technology and/ or technical trade certificate a plus.
  • May be required to work weekends/shutdowns based on set up needs on these machines.
  • Must be able to operate a computer and a tablet (iOS and android).
  • Technical Engineering Degree or Mechatronics, or extensive Mechanical Maintenance experience
  • 3 years’ experience performing industrial maintenance in a chemical plant setting.

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift to 35 lbs-70lbs.
  • Able to Walk and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Able to bend at waist, able reach above the shoulder level.
