What You’ll Do As a Wave Tech / Band Weld Operator, you’ll be part of our Stanley Black & Decker team located in East Longmeadow, MA. You’ll get to: Applying a top tier process to our band saw blades. Learning all the specific applications required. Set up, run time and clean up including weekly TPM. Must be self-sufficient and someone who takes ownership of the machine and orders. Duties would include Start up, full operation of controls- selecting the correct application level, trouble shooting, unloading bands and packing bands when complete. Afte processing there will be quality checks that need to be done to account for a superior product going to our customer. Requirements- self-starter, willing to cross train when times are slow, basic CNC but not required-will train. Team player and willing to work and help others. Receive coil stock and cut to proper size based on cut tags for welding on multiply weld lines. Adjust welding machine clamps for blade width, thickness and tooth spacing. Set time and temperature controls as required, clamp ends of blade in machine, position flash guard and actuate cycle. After welding, and preliminary anneal depending on size and type of blade, transfer welded blades to grinder. Perform periodic visual checks for proper weld, alignment and tooth spacing at weld. Use grinding wheel and/or belt grinder to remove welding flash from both sides and back of welded blade. Check back of blade as required with dial indicator. Move blade to gullet grinder and grind flash from gullet and shape welded gullet to match original shape. Maintain welder jaws clean and free from flash. Periodically reverse jaws or remove and replace as required. Dress abrasive wheel and remove and replace as necessary. Complete required documentation. Perform regularly scheduled daily, weekly and monthly maintenance to all machines and equipment. Disassemble, clean, lubricate and repair as required. Post required information to maintenance log sheet. Some operators calibrate, adjust or repair gauges and precision measuring instruments used on the job. Observe and obey all safety rules, regulations and practices and employ all safety equipment and devices. Perform other similar or related duties as required or directed. Our Flex Tech role has a big-time impact! Our technicians conveniently repair mobile devices & electronics wherever our customers are (their shop, home, or workplace). If you enjoy helping people repair and get to know their tech devices, this role is for you. You will spend time working in the store repairing devices, selling home+ and accessories, and driving to customer locations in a company-provided van to repair their electronic devices and sell home+ while delivering our award-winning personalized customer experience.Through interactions with customers, our experts demonstrate integrity in serving, solving and selling with expectations to listen to the customer’s needs, provide accurate information and conduct themselves in a way that is consistent with Asurion's values.

Starting Pay -$18.00, per hour + uncapped sales & repair incentive potential

  • Average incentive potential of $510/month & Top incentive potential of $611/month, based on performance

As a Flex Tech, you will perform the activities listed below while working in a retail store and a company-provided vehicle ;

  • Resolve customer issues by troubleshooting and repairing their electronic devices
  • Expand your knowledge of uBreakiFix & Asurion culture and products
  • Deliver world-class customer service
  • Bring sales experience to consistently sell the Connected Home product and Serve, Solve, and Sell on every customer interaction both in the store and while in the van servicing the customer
  • Learn and apply the details of the Connected Home product, how to gain an understanding of the customer's technology, and how to offer and sell protection/tech support solutions to customers to meet their needs
  • Perform in your role and achieve your goals by succeeding in sales goals, providing excellent service and technical/repair support, and creating satisfied customers in accordance with Asurion’s Core Values
  • Demonstrate Asurion’s Core Values in all interactions
  • Be responsible for inventory management

Here’s what you’ll bring to the team:

  • A passion for solving problems and delivering solutions
  • A love for people and the devices that enrich their lives
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
  • One year of customer service/retail sales experience preferred
  • A willingness to learn and leverage sales resources provided by Asurion
  • Reliability and flexibility when it comes to dealing with difficult situations
  • The ability to quickly adapt in an ever-changing environment
  • Motivated to meet and exceed evolving key performance objectives
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Six months experience with product service support or electronics troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of mobile devices and operating systems
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
