Able to step in during call-outs or urgent staffing situations. Your Impact Radiologic Procedures & Imaging: Prepare and perform radiologic procedures following ConvenientMD and ARRT protocols. Operate radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable equipment, ensuring proper radiation safety and adhering to ALARA principles. Position patients for optimal imaging and completed document studies in EMR and PACS. Collaborate with radiologists for study interpretation, manage discrepancies, and coordinate outside imaging requests. Clinical Support: Efficiently switch between RT and Medical Assistant responsibilities. Conduct patient intake, including vital signs, medical history, and observational examination. Provide laboratory and diagnostic testing, screenings, and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses as ordered by provider. Perform a variety of testing procedures, including vision, hearing, drug screening, pulmonary function testing, and point-of-care diagnostics (e.g., strep, flu, RSV, glucose, urinalysis). Maintain clean, sterile exam rooms and instruments to ensure a safe clinical environment. Patient Interaction: Support clinical care standards by adhering to ConvenientMD policies and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Quality Assurance & Inventory Tracking: Manage radiology supply inventory and submit orders as needed. Ensure medical equipment is operational through preventive maintenance and timely repairs. Participate in quality control and assurance studies to uphold clinical standards. Maintain accurate records, files, and documentation in alignment with HIPAA and ConvenientMD protocols. Team Collaboration & Training: Support onboarding and training for new clinic team members. Foster a positive work environment by collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality care. Education, Licensure, & Certifications: High school diploma or GED required. State licensed with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Experience : 1-2 years in radiology and patient care, preferably in urgent care or emergency settings. Performs waived and moderate complexity testing where there is documentation of successful completion of training and competency. Performs routine equipment maintenance and function checks including routine pipette calibration if required. Orders and maintains supplies and inventory. Collects and records vital signs, weights, and other patient data. Accurately records input and output Assists with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene (shaving, mouth care, foot care, pericare and bathing), positioning and ambulation Communicates information pertinent to the end of shift summation before leaving the unit Rounds on patients and families frequently to assess and address personal needs, concerns or comfort related issues. Reports information to responsible nurse for resolution when necessary Inserts and removes gastric and urethral tubes. Performs enemas and disimpactions . Removes peripheral, intravenous therapy lines. Performs phlebotomy on certain units after specific trainingOperates patient monitoring systems specific to unit needs (such as, cardiac and fetal heart monitoring). Performs bedside testing such as Oximetry, ECG, Glucometery, urinalysis and other tests Performs wound care and dressing changes. Removes staples and sutures. Assists nurses and physicians with sterile procedures. Assist with application and removal of restraints under the direction of an RN Applies oxygen delivery devices as ordered without altering settings or determining rates. Assists patients with portable or wall oxygen, and assures proper storage of E cylinders Documents all care provided in the appropriate place in the patient record. Assembles patient charts. Posts laboratory and other results in patient chart. Uses the computerized documentation system at the skill level commensurate with the responsibilities included in this description Delivers specimens to Laboratory, Microbiology and Pathology. Transports x-rays, blood products and equipment Insures cleanliness of nutrition areas and general unit. Cleans and stores equipment. Empties trash, linen bags and sharps containers. Stocks medical supplies, linens and paper goods. Inventories equipment as required. Processes broken equipment as directed. Monitors the patient throughout the night, observing cardiac rhythm and respiration of abnormalities. Contacts a staff physician when indicated. Attends the personal needs of the patient throughout the night. Administers oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and BIPAP as directed by the staff physician. Removes electrodes and cleans the patient as needed.
