Responsibilities: • Responsible for the evaluation of donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures. Administration and supervision of approved immunizations other than red blood cell immunizations. Provides limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including the administration of medication or treatments in accordance with licensure or certification. • Promotes positive customer relations with all donors. • Conducts confidential and effective interviews with donors to obtain necessary information regarding suitability to donate plasma. • In conjunction with the Center Medical Director and/or Center Physician responds to medically related questions from staff including donor suitability and provides information to staff on medically related issues. • Performs medical history reviews and health assessments on donors. Total Safety is looking for an Air Tech II to add to their safety conscious team! The Air Tech II provides quality workmanship in the cleaning, calibrating and repair of various fixed and portable gas monitoring systems, water/moisture content measuring equipment and breathing air equipment. Specific Job Duties and Responsibilities · Performs receipt, inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling and testing of various SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) and other respiratory equipment and breathing air equipment in accordance with approved testing and service procedures. · Performs routine inspection and maintenance of breathing air regulators and reducers and high- and low-pressure breathing air manifolds. · Conducts detailed visual inspections and system functional tests of various systems and equipment for the purpose of reporting any deficiencies and corrective action recommendations to customer. Assesses the repair needed and to quote the customer price and delivery for repair or replacement. · Completes all documentation and data entry associated with inspection and repair in a timely and accurate manner and obtains signature from customer so that proper invoicing and documentation can be provided to customer. This includes all inspection and repair documents, job cost billable expenses and time sheets. · Trains less experienced technicians and customers in use and care of assigned equipment. · Assists others in facility including stocking shelves with clean, tested and ready to use equipment and pulling, staging and loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery. Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition. Performs additional duties after training. · Performs basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer. Qualifications Education: High School diploma or GED. Associates degree in science or technical area strongly preferred. Experience: At least two (2) years of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery or related industry. Required Licenses or Specific Training: Must have a valid driver’s license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance. Must possess good driving record and be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving company truck. Forklift experience preferred. Must have ability to pass internal forklift certification as required. Must be willing travel to customers site and available for travel for short and long-term out-of-town and/or offshore projects. Must have Class C driver’s license with a DOT hazardous endorsement if required by facility. Other Required Skills, Knowledge or Abilities: Consistently demonstrates the ability to operate assigned equipment meeting or exceeding service and quality targets. Ability to operate and maintain, reassemble and test electronic safety equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications. Meets or exceeds service and quality targets with demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems, regardless of complexity and take corrective action within policy and procedure limitations. Knowledge of all regulatory standards pertaining to assigned responsibilities; i.e., State, OSHA, and NFPA regulations, etc. Must have knowledge of applicable Code of Federal Regulations, Coast Guard and ABS regulations if offshore. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility and customer required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). Trained in Respiratory Protection and fully certified to wear respiratory breathing equipment (Fit Tested). Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily. Interpersonal Communications: Ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions.) Ability to write technical reports and correspondence. Second language is a plus. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization preferred. Daily customer contact. Frequent contact with other facility personnel in order to understand issues. Frequent contact with less experienced maintenance personnel, training, coaching.
