About this unit The CVRU is a fast paced, highly specialized 9-bed critical care unit located right next to the Meijer Heart Center OR’s that is dedicated to providing world class recovery care of patients who have undergone all types of cardiac surgical procedures. Our nurses are fully ICU trained (including on IABP’s, PA catheters, sheaths, ventilators, etc) and provide the complete recovery care needed for these patients until they are hemodynamically stable and ready to transfer to the progressive care unit or to the Cardiothoracic ICU if the critical care needs are anticipated to last greater than 24 hrs. Our nurses work very closely with the cardiac surgery team to make sure these complex patients receive everything they need to assure optimal outcomes. We are looking for highly motived people who value teamwork and collaboration with other members of the health care team as these are essential to the position. Scope of work Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).Responsibilities include Electronic charting in EPIC, monitoring vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care and dressing changes, catheterization / catheter care and acting as a safety attendant for patients. Work Shift: 1130am-8pm Tuesday-Saturday Work type: On-Site This is an On-Site role based out of our Laboratory located in Lake Success, NY. The Target Pay for this position is $22.55 an hour. PURPOSE OF JOB: The Grossing Laboratory Technician performs laboratory analyses and tests. Prepares samples, sets up instruments, runs tests and reads, interprets and releases results. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function. Accurately gross an average of 12 cases (14 Containers) per hour. 91 cases (109 containers) per 7.6 hour shift. Load and operate the Sakura V.I.P. machines when needed Gross submitted tissues per SOP and related protocols with high level of quality Properly identify, orient, ink, and trim submitted tissues. Produce accurate and legible grossing notes with code description that provide the Pathologist with a clear understanding of the sections taken. Communicate with and respond to Pathologists, transcription, and LabC email communications Identify problem and special handling cases. Gross tissue for specific re-gross requests when requested in a timely manner Calibrate and run Quality Control on the machines and assist with daily, weekly and monthly maintenance of the machines. Exercises judgment in evaluating and reporting results. Report any technical/QC problems to their lead tech or supervisor. Cross-train and develop knowledge of multiple specialties within department/lab. Reads, understands and follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), including safety and quality procedures. Maintains clean and organized work area. Restocks supplies as needed. Participates in improving lab efficiency, quality, and cooperation. Consult with senior peers on non-complex tasks to learn through experience. Applies job skills and lab policies and procedures to complete a variety of tasks. May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned. Job overview

This individual will assist service technicians in basic service tasks while learning job skills that will benefit them in future technician positions. As this individual gains knowledge, they will also become more familiar with the equipment, tools, and parts that they will come in contact with on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and perform basic service tasks assigned by service manager or service advisor.
  • Assist service technicians on the job with various tasks for training purposes.
  • Participate in scheduled training and on-site training to complete hours needed to graduate from Ag Tech program.
  • Complete all necessary forms needed by the supervisor.
  • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
  • Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment.
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Support management in the pursuit of corporate policies, plans, goals, and long-term objectives.

Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of experience working on a farm, operating or servicing equipment is preferred.
  • High School Diploma, Ag Technician or Industrial training.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic computer functions.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
  • Proficient written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand instructions and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to learn by both observing and hands on training.
  • Detail oriented, ability to complete a job thoroughly and completely.
  • Basic computer skills and internet function ability.
  • Both a sequential and analytical thinker.
