Qualifications Experience in aseptic or GMP/regulated manufacturing. H.S. diploma or GED or equivalent combination of training and experience. Completed all safety, environmental and task training certifications. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental rules, equipment operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to customers, co-workers, contactors, and team members. Very good communications and decision-making skills. Ability to read blueprints and/or other technical documents a plus not required. English language proficiency in reading and writing. (External candidates only.) SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES (not limited to): Technical factors: Automatic exposure control is used appropriately. Technical factors (kvp, ma, time and distance) are accurately utilized. Appropriate cassette is used (regular, grid, etc.), collimation and tomographic factors are employed and assistance is given to the attending physician during exams. Positioning techniques: Appropriate body parts are imaged and identified, views are acquired, and immobilization is employed, Radiologist protocols are followed. Practices good sterile techniques. Performs Computed Tomography Exams with and without power contrast injections. Archiving is done appropriately with the PACS. Gantry: Angle mechanism is used appropriately, Table height is appropriate, Positioning is appropriate for exam. Patient handling: Transports, transfers and positions patients in a manner that is safe for the patient. Confirms that patient and exam preparations are appropriate. Evaluates patient's mental and physical condition in order to avoid hazardous situations and does not leave alone, if their safety is questioned. Accurate patient and image documentation in the HIS/RIS and PACS systems. Performs SBAR as required and uses AIDET. Monitors patient needs. Performs necessary paperwork and archiving. Administers contrast media when appropriate. Proficient in starting IV's. May be assigned on-call standby shifts as needed by the department. Handles confidential information according to HIPAA regulations. Specialized Equipment Setup: Ability to adjust technical settings. Ability to adjust physical parameters. Positioning is appropriate for exam. Acts as mentor to students from affiliated Radiology Technology Programs. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. This includes, but is not limited to: security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures, as well as labor agreements. Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organization's values. Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (not limited to): Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification. Registered- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, RT(R) (CT) required. Completes Samaritan appropriate CT modality orientation. Minimum of two (2) years experience in hospital setting preferred. The X-Ray & Medical Technologist is responsible for: Being able to take good quality X-ray images following CityMD X-ray protocol in an efficient and accurate manner Capturing accurate and detailed documentation of the encounter into the EMR in a timely manner Essential Functions/Responsibilities (including the duties and responsibilities as stated in the CityMD Scope of Practice for Radiology Technologist and Scribes) Performing the more common X-ray studies in a reasonable amount of time as suggested below: Chest X-ray: 3 minutes Extremity X-ray: 3-5 minutes per order Spinal X-ray: 4-6 minutes Abdomen X-ray: 4-6 minutes Using all internal X-ray and care coordination software in order to properly document and communicate X-ray studies performed between the provider, Aftercare and radiologists reading the X-rays Being able to fully document in the EMR on multiple patients per hour Facilitating any necessary diagnostic tests (e.g., CT, MRI, ultrasounds, etc.) and referrals to medical specialists for follow-up care via Aftercare Assisting the physician with medical procedures within the Scribe scope of practice, which may include but is not limited to: EKG, procedure set ups, etc. Communicating with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance Assisting the licensed practitioner, under the direct and personal supervision of the licensed practitioner, with CLIA waived tests for which training has been provided as well as EKGs, external laboratory specimens, providing a second set of hands for maintaining limb position for sling assistance Keeping track of materials needed to copy images to a CD for patients and inform Medical Assistant or Site Manager prior to depletion of supplies Keeping an accurate and up-to-date QA log book including pregnancy form and daily check off list Having a knowledge of people to call in case of equipment failure or software issues Providing compassionate care to our patients Assisting Medical Assistants with facility stocking when needed Assisting with training and acclimation of new hire X-ray techs and scribes Qualifications If Internal Candidate - must be in good performance and company policy standing Graduation from an accredited X-ray Technologist program 4-6 months experience as a X-ray Technologist Explain, process, and position patient for X-ray; adjusting restriction devices; moving and adjusting equipment to set exposure factors. Determine patient's X-ray needs by reading instructions from physician. Perform basic general X-rays of the chest, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, knee, foot, or ankle under supervision of physician. Use beam restricting devices and patient shielding techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patient and staff. Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer generated methods.
