About the Role Atlas Tube, a subsidiary of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our North Kansas City, MO facility. This role is responsible for performing preventative, routine, and unpredicted maintenance tasks to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness of production equipment, overhead cranes, and other facility components. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and a proactive approach to maintenance and repair. Shift: 2nd Shift 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM Pay: $30 - $40 per hour plus Production Bonus – Averaging $3 to $5 per hour What You’ll Do Work safely following OSHA and workplace safety practices set forth by Atlas Tube policy. Repair and maintain mechanical production and facilities equipment. Fabricate, assemble, or repair components and assemblies to prepare for use on production and facilities equipment. Perform precision machinery lubrication. Utilize strong hydraulics background and knowledge for troubleshooting and repair. Install, perform preventative maintenance, and modify all production and/or facilities mechanical equipment, including mills, slitters, cranes, conveyors, coolant and lubrication systems, and exhaust systems. Work within a team environment as well as independently, participating in team meetings as requested. Perform emergency maintenance work to maintain a high level of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (O.E.E.). Contribute to root cause analysis efforts and continuous improvement toward failure reduction/elimination. Initiate follow-up work orders for open concerns. Specify part requirement details for planned work. Provide continuous improvement suggestions to enhance preventative maintenance (PM) activities and reduce unanticipated failures. Report discrepancies in drawings and bill of materials (BOM) for correction. Fabricate, machine (lathe, grinder, mill, etc.), weld, fit/assemble components, and assemblies as needed for planned and unplanned maintenance. Document full details of work activities, including symptoms, root causes, extent of damage, and corrective actions. Utilize SAP - Computerized Maintenance Management System to capture daily work activities and locate parts. Maintain high levels of 5S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) within defined work and storage areas. Perform other duties as assigned. Complete a 90-day probationary period, with the option to extend to 180 days. Maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule. Who You Are 5+ years of manufacturing experience. Ability to read and use hydraulic schematics. Experience operating and rigging overhead cranes. Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Physical & Work Requirements Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Use of various hand tools and equipment as needed. Ability to work occasional overtime. Warehouse environment with an uncontrolled climate year-round. Exposure to a dusty and noisy work environment within OSHA guidelines. Duties and Responsibilities Perform all of the necessary repairs Read and comprehend repair order information and parts schematics. Diagnose the tool by performing a complete function test. Perform complete function test to confirm the tool is repaired properly Complete the information on the repair order form Work involves disassembly of units, diagnosis of operating difficulty, location and replacement of worn or defective parts within times in accordance with work instructions. Assist in other areas of the cell as needed such as 5S projects Make decisions as to feasibility of repairs. Keep records of parts used and provide data for billing and/or warranty information. Recognize and report operational irregularities and defective materials. Set up and perform electrical and mechanical tests to insure product's repair and/or work performed is in conformance with prescribed quality standards. Work from parts sheets, specifications and drawings. Perform prescribed inspections. Under supervision of the Lead Technician make recommendations as to warranty liability and any unusual repair problems. Work is subject to in-process and final inspection. Responsible for quality of work, safety and housekeeping in assigned area. Perform miscellaneous tasks as directed. About the Role

Atlas Tube, a subsidiary of Zekelman Industries, is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our North Kansas City, MO facility. This role is responsible for performing preventative, routine, and unpredicted maintenance tasks to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness of production equipment, overhead cranes, and other facility components. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and a proactive approach to maintenance and repair.

Shift: 2nd Shift 3:00 PM – 1:00 AMPay: $30 - $40 per hour plus Production Bonus – Averaging $3 to $5 per hour

What You’ll Do

  • Work safely following OSHA and workplace safety practices set forth by Atlas Tube policy.

  • Repair and maintain mechanical production and facilities equipment.

  • Fabricate, assemble, or repair components and assemblies to prepare for use on production and facilities equipment.

  • Perform precision machinery lubrication.

  • Utilize strong hydraulics background and knowledge for troubleshooting and repair.

  • Install, perform preventative maintenance, and modify all production and/or facilities mechanical equipment, including mills, slitters, cranes, conveyors, coolant and lubrication systems, and exhaust systems.

  • Work within a team environment as well as independently, participating in team meetings as requested.

  • Perform emergency maintenance work to maintain a high level of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (O.E.E.).

  • Contribute to root cause analysis efforts and continuous improvement toward failure reduction/elimination.

  • Initiate follow-up work orders for open concerns.

  • Specify part requirement details for planned work.

  • Provide continuous improvement suggestions to enhance preventative maintenance (PM) activities and reduce unanticipated failures.

  • Report discrepancies in drawings and bill of materials (BOM) for correction.

  • Fabricate, machine (lathe, grinder, mill, etc.), weld, fit/assemble components, and assemblies as needed for planned and unplanned maintenance.

  • Document full details of work activities, including symptoms, root causes, extent of damage, and corrective actions.

  • Utilize SAP - Computerized Maintenance Management System to capture daily work activities and locate parts.

  • Maintain high levels of 5S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) within defined work and storage areas.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Complete a 90-day probationary period, with the option to extend to 180 days.

  • Maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.

  • Ability to read and use hydraulic schematics.

  • Experience operating and rigging overhead cranes.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Use of various hand tools and equipment as needed.

  • Ability to work occasional overtime.

  • Warehouse environment with an uncontrolled climate year-round.

  • Exposure to a dusty and noisy work environment within OSHA guidelines.

  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
