Breakfast Host / Breakfast Attendant

Location: Hampton Inn & Suites Wilmington Christiana – Newark, DEShift: Early Morning Shift (Approximately 5:00 AM – 11:00 AM)Employment Type: Part-Time

Position Summary

The Breakfast Host is responsible for creating a welcoming dining experience for hotel guests by preparing, presenting, and maintaining the complimentary breakfast service. This role ensures food is fresh, the breakfast area is clean and fully stocked, and guests receive friendly, attentive service throughout the breakfast period.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare the breakfast buffet before service begins.
• Prepare and replenish hot and cold breakfast items according to hotel standards.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, and inventory throughout the breakfast service.
• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Keep the breakfast area, dining room, beverage stations, and serving counters clean and organized.
• Maintain coffee, juice, and condiment stations.
• Remove used dishes and sanitize tables as needed.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
• Properly store food and supplies at the end of service.
• Complete cleaning and closing duties after breakfast service ends.
• Communicate supply needs and maintenance concerns to hotel management.
• Assist with light housekeeping of the breakfast area and back-of-house storage spaces.

Qualifications

• Previous food service, hospitality, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Friendly, outgoing personality with strong customer service skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
