Summary:  Under the direction of the Fish Health Manager, work in conjunction with Fish Health Technicians to rapidly assess fish and proactively diagnose to execute all aspects of the Fish Health Plan at our Aquaculture hatcheries and farm. This position oversees the day-to-day molecular components of the fish health laboratory for the steelhead division. Key Responsibilities:  Communicate fish health issues to team members of all skill levels to create effective change. Assist Fish Health Lab Manager with lab oversight helping to direct work to Microbiologists I and Fish Health Technicians. Be knowledgeable on common fish diseases, water quality, and life support operations. Perform a wide range of sophisticated assays and wet bench techniques of cell biology, bacteriology, molecular biology, genetics, and genomics, including DNA and RNA preparation, PCR amplification, 16-s sequencing, gene expression studies and analysis. Be the point of contact within fish health for molecular questions and projects. Oversee and assist with data collection of samples, help with sample preparation and coordinate sample submission to external testing laboratories. Review and interpret laboratory results, maintain accurate records, and provide reports. Utilize specialized knowledge to interpret results, e.g., reading controls, evaluate results. Coordinate and assist with bacteria isolate collection to be used in conjunction with vaccine research and vaccine updates for production use. Categorize mortality to identify diseases based upon external and internal clinical signs. This becomes imperative follow-up in developing vaccines. Be the leader for on-site knowledge and change making with vaccine management. Provide basic microscopic skills to make and stain slides and identify bacterial and parasite agents. Perform or oversee regular and standardization of all lab equipment and lab facilities. Apply for any pertinent laboratory license applications and renewals. Stay current on current rainbow trout research and industry knowledge as pertaining to laboratory techniques. Assist with SOPs development as needed for laboratory protocols and procedures. Assist with maintaining precise records on fish production and educate other team members on fish health biology. Establish and maintain best aquaculture practices to prevent fish health disease introduction and spread. As needed, make plates for bacterial isolation, antimicrobial sensitivities, and glycerol stocks, wash necropsy tools and sterilize/autoclave equipment for next uses. Supervise biological technician’s laboratory work to evaluate the accuracy of their results. Be comfortable making decisions in a changing environment. Remain up to date with scientific and research developments. Maintain good communication and working relationships with contracted Aquatic Veterinarians and contracted laboratories. Assist with maintaining the fish health records to accurately track and manage projects, fish health reports and transfer/importation permits. Assist with various research projects in conjunction with other company divisions, National Center for Cool & Coldwater Aquaculture (NCCCWA), Western Fisheries Research Center (WFRC) and others. Immaculate attention to detail is required for projects with these collaborators as results will be published. Train students and interns regarding lab and farm safety, sample preparation, and standard operating procedures for the molecular laboratory. Ability to train and develop both technical and non-technical employees. Perform other Animal Health and Farm Operations duties as assigned. What You Bring to Pacific Seafood: Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in microbiology or fisheries microbiology. Minimum of 3 years of work experience specific in a fish health laboratory. A valid State of Washington driver license is required. WA State boaters license (can be obtained with 90 days of hire). Ability to perform fieldwork and collect samples as needed. Knowledge of fish anatomy and ability to complete necropsy procedures. Ability to perform DNA Extractions (from bacteria and tissue), purifications and amplifications. Computer proficiency, experience using MS Word and Excel. Meticulous and an eye for detail. About the Role We’re looking for a Principal Engineer to lead Highspot’s Analytics Platform capability within our Data & Analytics Pillar . This role is responsible for our in-app analytics experience , empowering customers with real-time insights into their go-to-market performance. As a key technical leader, you will shape the architecture, scalability, and long-term vision of our custom-built data visualization & reporting framework . You will drive frontend and backend innovations , evolving our Typescript/React-based framework to provide robust, composable analytics components, while also ensuring query performance in our In-Memory OLAP database and scalability of our backend API and transpiler . Partnering across teams, you will enhance system reliability, drive best practices, and mentor engineers in building high-performance, interactive analytics experiences that enable our customers to make data-driven decisions with confidence. What You'll Do Architect and Scale the Analytics Platform – Design and evolve the key parts of our system including database/query optimizations, backend scalability, and frontend framework improvements to support self-serve analytics and real-time insights. Lead Frontend and Backend Analytics Excellence – Ensure the Analytics Platform provides a scalable, efficient, and well-governed foundation for serving analytical queries and reports while advancing the frontend component architecture to support interactive analytics experiences. Own End-to-End Analytics Flow – Guide the transformation, querying, and visualization of analytics data, optimizing for performance, usability, and seamless integration across backend and frontend systems. Evolve Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for Data Governance – Enhance our RBAC framework to ensure the right people have access to the data they need while maintaining security, compliance, and performance across the Analytics Platform. Enable Advanced Visualization & Reporting – Partner with Product and Engineering teams to evolve and optimize our ad-hoc data visualization and reporting framework, ensuring robust composable components with efficient state management and interaction logic. Drive Best Practices and Technical Standards – Establish and evangelize patterns for query optimization, schema evolution, frontend component reusability, and analytics-driven UI design. Lead and Mentor – Act as a technical leader and mentor for engineers across the team, providing deep technical guidance on analytics, query performance, frontend development, and reporting challenges. Cross-Team Collaboration – Partner with engineering teams across product, backend, frontend, Data-Platform and AI/ML to ensure a seamless, high-performing analytics experience. Operational Excellence – Define and drive SLA, availability, and performance objectives, ensuring the Analytics Platform meets the needs of our Analytics and Insights vision. Your Background Proven Experience – 10+ years in software engineering with deep experience in analytics platforms, query engines, OLAP databases, and frontend analytics frameworks. Expertise in Analytics & Query Processing – Strong hands-on knowledge of OLAP databases, query transpilation, analytics frameworks, and frontend-driven analytics experiences. Expertise in Frontend Analytics & Component Architecture – Experience designing and developing reusable, performant, and scalable frontend components for interactive analytics experiences. Deep understanding of modern frontend frameworks, component-based architecture, and state management patterns to enable dynamic, data-rich visualizations. Architectural Leadership – Experience designing and implementing scalable analytics-serving platforms and interactive query experiences with frontend and backend considerations. Strong Programming and Data Skills – Proficiency in SQL, TypeScript, React, and modern transpilation techniques, with a solid understanding of query optimization, frontend component reusability, and performance tuning. Cloud-Native & Infrastructure Knowledge – Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform/Pulumi, with a focus on analytics services and frontend scalability. Technical Leadership – Proven ability to drive cross-functional technical initiatives and influence platform decisions across both backend and frontend architectures. Analytical Mindset – Passion for solving complex problems in interactive analytics, frontend visualization, query processing, and composable reporting frameworks. As our engineering presence scales, we’re looking for Security Engineers in North America to ensure deeper coverage, strengthen collaboration with product and infrastructure teams, and uphold the trust of our customers around the world. In this dynamic and cross-functional role, you’ll gain broad exposure by engaging in diverse projects spanning multiple security domains: application security, infrastructure scanning, security operations, and incident response. Your day-to-day may include securing our product, conducting security validation and vulnerability remediation, managing real-world security incidents, and building out our detection and response capabilities through automation, curiosity, and hands-on engineering. You’ll work closely with IT, Product Engineering, and Infrastructure teams as part of our global Security team. What You'll Do Contribute to application security assessments, threat modeling, and secure code reviews across product features, internal tools, endpoints, and third-party integrations.
