Testing will consist of executing both manual and automated test cases on newly developed Itron Software and Hardware products. The key responsibility for this role is to develop and execute both manual and automated test scripts during the internal validation test process. Duties & Responsibilities: Collaborate with product management and engineering teams on the development of test plans for Itron products. Develop and improve test coverage of test plans to ensure new products function as designed. Develop both manual and automated test cases. Execute test cases and generate test reports. Report and track bugs, debug problems encountered during tests and verify bug/defect fixes. Coordinate the maintenance and upgrade of test lab environment, perform application installs, and set up of the test network. Complete work on site at Itron Headquarters, Liberty Lake, WA, in an office and lab setting. Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or related experience in software systems and integration testing of hardware and software. Knowledge of both Linux and Windows server systems and network protocols. Strong collaboration and organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to learn new methods and deal with rapidly switching priorities when appropriate. Professional workplace communication skills. Preferred Skills & Experience: Expertise in System Level Testing: Test techniques include Hardware validation (grey box) using Software (GUI) & Database via TCP/IP network. Solid experience with programming in Linux shell scripting and scripting languages such as Python, C#, Java. Experience in test automation and execution using Azure DevOps (ADS) based automation test suites. Experience with electric/gas/water utility meters. Physical Demands: Applicants must be able to lift and carry electrical test equipment weighing less than 20 pounds for short distances. Connecting and disconnecting electrical test equipment is also required. We are hiring a Systems Test Engineer to join our motivated and talented team. This engineer will become a key contributor in the definition, design and implementation of the next generation network devices and will help Itron continue to deliver world class solutions.

We are looking for top talent! In this role, you will work closely with a small group of System Test Engineers in the testing of Itron IP-based networking products. Testing will consist of executing both manual and automated test cases on newly developed Itron Software and Hardware products. The key responsibility for this role is to develop and execute both manual and automated test scripts during the internal validation test process.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product management and engineering teams on the development of test plans for Itron products.
  • Develop and improve test coverage of test plans to ensure new products function as designed.
  • Develop both manual and automated test cases.
  • Execute test cases and generate test reports.
  • Report and track bugs, debug problems encountered during tests and verify bug/defect fixes.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and upgrade of test lab environment, perform application installs, and set up of the test network.
  • Complete work on site at Itron Headquarters, Liberty Lake, WA, in an office and lab setting.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or related experience in software systems and integration testing of hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of both Linux and Windows server systems and network protocols.
  • Strong collaboration and organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to learn new methods and deal with rapidly switching priorities when appropriate.
  • Professional workplace communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Expertise in System Level Testing: Test techniques include Hardware validation (grey box) using Software (GUI) & Database via TCP/IP network.
  • Solid experience with programming in Linux shell scripting and scripting languages such as Python, C#, Java.
  • Experience in test automation and execution using Azure DevOps (ADS) based automation test suites.
  • Experience with electric/gas/water utility meters.

Physical Demands:

  • Applicants must be able to lift and carry electrical test equipment weighing less than 20 pounds for short distances. Connecting and disconnecting electrical test equipment is also required.
