Job Summary This role, as the Responsible Manager, requires leading the Health, Safety, Security and Environment (Local Risk Team) to ensure all employees are taken care of, given the proper training, provided with the required safety equipment and ensured a safe and secure work environment. The Manager will have the responsibility to accurately maintain an exceptional level of quality in all aspects of the Department and ensure all work is performed safely and is supported by established regulations, procedures, policies and protocols. The selected candidate must have the ability to run the operation in a challenging and dynamic environment, while maintaining strict adherence to all Menzies Aviation and Regulatory policies and procedures. In summary, the role of a HSSE Manager is multifaceted, encompassing quality control, health, security and safety management, and environmental stewardship. This role is crucial in promoting a culture of safety, compliance, and sustainability within an organization while minimizing risks and enhancing overall performance. Key Responsibilities Safety is our top priority, and it is the responsibility of every employee. Perform as a mentor to other employees; sets the standard by leading by example. Directing and motivating employees to achieve agreed targets. Create, update, and implement quality, health, safety, security and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace and develop strategies to mitigate them. This includes conducting risk assessments, job safety analyses, and environmental impact assessments. Ensure the organization complies with all applicable health, safety, security and environmental laws, regulations, and standards. This involves staying up to date with changing regulations and ensuring the organization's practices align with them. Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees and any contractors on health, safety, security and environmental standards and practices. Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental breaches to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and business continuity plans, including evacuation procedures and contingency plans for various scenarios such as fires, chemical spills, or natural disasters. Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. Implement corrective actions as necessary. Maintain accurate records related to health, safety, security and environmental activities, incidents, training, and compliance. Prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities as required. Identify opportunities for improvement in quality, health, safety, security and environmental performance. Implement and track initiatives to enhance overall performance. Promote a culture of awareness and responsibility among employees. Ensure that information related to health, safety, security, and environmental issues is effectively communicated throughout the organization. Develop and manage budgets for all programs, including allocating resources for training, equipment, and other necessary expenses. Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies and authorities on all related matters. Ensure timely reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. Be responsible for implementing sustainability initiatives and reducing the organization's environmental footprint. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of health, safety, security and environmental programs and track progress over time. Ensure safe and secure operations, in accordance with the highest possible standards of health, safety, security and all government statutory requirements. Plans, organizes, and directs the work of the teams' duties to meet objectives with the most efficient use of personnel, facilities, and equipment. Assist in establishing the annual operating Budget for the Company and the operating performance across business units. Assist in hiring and developing training programs cultivate a good working relationship with local Airport Authority and other appropriate Government Agencies. Quickly forecast and react to problems, challenges and irregular operations that will arise, causing the need to reassess and use Plans B and C; read: alternate solutions. Able to organize and disseminate accurate operational information using iPos, RSMS, eBis, Kronos, Ultipro, SmartDrive, SMART Audits, OSHA, MORSE, QT Technologies, WhatsApp, Text, iPhone, and Multi-Channel Handheld Radio Systems, and any additional or new technologies that may be introduced. Qualifications & Experience Must be a team player who promotes safety above all. Three to five years of experience in a safety or security role, including two years in an administrative or supervisory capacity is preferred. The expected results are development of a team that is compliant with the requirements of the regulatory agency(s) in areas where Airgas operates in order to reduce the financial exposure of the employees and shareholders of the company further supporting business growth in a safe and compliant manner. In particular you will: Champions and promotes a strong safety and compliance culture implementing programs to ensure associate safety and company regulatory compliance. Manages, delivers, conducts training and performs audits on Airgas various standard operating procedures (SOP) including the Safety Manual, Medical Gas Manual and other pertinent corporate compliance manuals and initiatives. May receive direction on tasks from supervisor or other managers. Represents the company on regulatory issues with government entities. Provides leadership and guidance on Airgas's incident review committee. Provides analysis of significant risk data to management by evaluating the effectiveness of initiatives through safety assessment by compiling and interpreting data to identify gaps. Develops and implements action plans as necessary to mitigate risks. Conducts incident investigations in conjunction with Branch and / or Plant Management to partner with insurance carriers to manage claims. Participates in activities designed to empower employees to lead safety efforts within the organization. Bachelor's degree in a related degree field required. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional related experience may be accepted. CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification preferred. A minimum of 5 years of related safety experience within a production and distribution environment. Must have excellent organizational, written and oral communication, listening and presentation skills including the ability to effectively present and discuss technical information and respond to questions from employees, government agency representatives, and customers. Computer literate with Intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Ability to define and solve problems dealing with a variety of both abstract and concrete variables. Regularly move and/or transport up to 60 pounds and move up to 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment. Frequent regional travel (up to 60% of work time). Minimal overnight travel. Must have reliable transportation, current driver's license, minimum liability insurance as required by state of vehicle registration. Job requires visitation to various Airgas and customer sites, which have varying environments/conditions, layouts, and accessibility. Job Summary

This role, as the Responsible Manager, requires leading the Health, Safety, Security and Environment (Local Risk Team) to ensure all employees are taken care of, given the proper training, provided with the required safety equipment and ensured a safe and secure work environment. The Manager will have the responsibility to accurately maintain an exceptional level of quality in all aspects of the Department and ensure all work is performed safely and is supported by established regulations, procedures, policies and protocols.

This role requires a skilled leader with strong safety, operational and business acumen, and participative teamwork skills. The selected candidate must have the ability to run the operation in a challenging and dynamic environment, while maintaining strict adherence to all Menzies Aviation and Regulatory policies and procedures.

In summary, the role of a HSSE Manager is multifaceted, encompassing quality control, health, security and safety management, and environmental stewardship. This role is crucial in promoting a culture of safety, compliance, and sustainability within an organization while minimizing risks and enhancing overall performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organization complies with all applicable health, safety, security and environmental laws, regulations, and standards. This involves staying up to date with changing regulations and ensuring the organization's practices align with them.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees and any contractors on health, safety, security and environmental standards and practices.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and environmental breaches to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and business continuity plans, including evacuation procedures and contingency plans for various scenarios such as fires, chemical spills, or natural disasters.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards. Implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records related to health, safety, security and environmental activities, incidents, training, and compliance. Prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in quality, health, safety, security and environmental performance. Implement and track initiatives to enhance overall performance.
  • Promote a culture of awareness and responsibility among employees. Ensure that information related to health, safety, security, and environmental issues is effectively communicated throughout the organization.
  • Develop and manage budgets for all programs, including allocating resources for training, equipment, and other necessary expenses.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies and authorities on all related matters. Ensure timely reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Be responsible for implementing sustainability initiatives and reducing the organization's environmental footprint.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of health, safety, security and environmental programs and track progress over time.
  • Ensure safe and secure operations, in accordance with the highest possible standards of health, safety, security and all government statutory requirements.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the work of the teams' duties to meet objectives with the most efficient use of personnel, facilities, and equipment.
  • Required to attend the mandatory training required by the Company, Airlines and Regulators, continual learning.
  • Comply with the Company's attendance and tardiness standards.
  • Assist in establishing the annual operating Budget for the Company and the operating performance across business units.
  • Assist in hiring and developing training programs cultivate a good working relationship with local Airport Authority and other appropriate Government Agencies.
  • Quickly forecast and react to problems, challenges and irregular operations that will arise, causing the need to reassess and use Plans B and C; read: alternate solutions.
  • Leads by example, always professional.
  • Complete shift reports and update all departments and business partners regarding safety, security, risks, staffing levels, delays.
  • Assist with all aspects of general administration including but not limited to attendance, rostering, staffing assessments and other.
  • Conduct shift briefings and safety briefings to ensure staff are organized and informed.
  • Regularly interacts with Customers to promote the Station and to measure the level of customer satisfaction.
  • Able to organize and disseminate accurate operational information using iPos, RSMS, eBis, Kronos, Ultipro, SmartDrive, SMART Audits, OSHA, MORSE, QT Technologies, WhatsApp, Text, iPhone, and Multi-Channel Handheld Radio Systems, and any additional or new technologies that may be introduced.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required and needed.

  • Previous experience in aviation and/or ground handling is strongly preferred.

  • Must have a current valid US driver's license, must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing; FBI 10-year background and obtain US Customs Seal.
