About the Role: Grocery Outlet is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead and manage compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for continuous improvement, including ongoing monitoring, evaluating, developing and implementing safety procedures/programs. The candidate will be responsible for safety training, ensuring a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees. This role would have knowledge of all applicable local, state, and federal OSHA and environmental laws and regulations in addition to basic food safety compliance. The Safety Manager reports to the Director of Safety. Responsibilities Include: Conduct Safety Inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions Provide and manage safety training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to comply with relevant safety regulations Provide regulatory compliance support and consultation to Independent Operators within the guidelines of the company's model Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and state plans, where applicable Monitor safety performance and maintain injury metrics to track progress, trends, and gaps for corrections. Collaborate with all relevant business partners to investigate and report accidents and incidents, and develop plans to prevent future occurrences Maintain accurate and current records, i.e. training, injury, maintenance etc. Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies to institute changes that lead to a safer work environment Prepare and communicate business updates Assess and recommend improvements and best practices to the hazardous materials and hazardous waste programs to manage risks and ensure compliance with local jurisdictions. Champion an action-oriented culture with a sense of urgency to identify and appropriately manage the safety and environmental risks at all GOI and IO locations. Maintain documented corrective action plans to include regulatory issues, near-miss events, accidents, and injuries. Develop and maintain positive relationships with local regulatory agencies that affect the business including City, Fire, CUPA, and local OSHA personnel. Complete ergonomic assessments, write reports, and work with HR to obtain necessary equipment. Travel is required and expected to be approximately 50% or as needed by a facility in all states where Grocery Outlet operates. The Safety Specialist II provides broad-based expertise to hospitals and clinics in areas related to assigned specialized safety/health program(s), e.g., biohazards, radiation, chemicals and lasers. Reporting to the Radiation Safety Officer for Keck Medicine of USC, the incumbent independently develops, implements, and manages multiple programs in the field of radiation safety to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations and ensures a safe workplace. Responsible for the development and implementation of specific operational radiation safety programs at multiple Keck Medical Enterprise locations throughout Southern California. Experienced professional who independently performs a wide range of functions supporting radiation safety; analyzes problems and determines solutions. Decision-making is based on established procedures, relevant laws, regulations and organizational policy, professional best practices, relevant science methodology, impact on other Safety and Emergency Office programs, and senior management approval as required. Decisions may impact individual work, other Safety and Emergency Office programs, other departments, or programs in the organization. Essential Duties: Primary accountabilities: Maintains radiation safety equipment, performs initial and weekly patient chart checks and dose calculations, participates in equipment evaluation and makes recommendations to the Radiation Safety Officer, maintain quality control of dosimeter, solves problems using creativity and teamwork while maintaining value-based behaviors, maintains Quality Control records on radiation equipment, serves on the Radiation Safety Committee, and answers radiation physics-related questions from outside sources. Develops and implements radiation safety program(s) to meet the hospitals and regulatory requirements. Establishes, documents and communicates standards, guidelines and procedures. Assesses existing program(s) for adequacy and regulatory compliance and recommends enhancements or modifications, as required. Maintains current knowledge on existing and pending legislation relating to radiation safety. Ensures that program design(s) reflect the most recent standards and regulations. Enforces State, Federal, and County laws regarding the manufacture, installation, and operation of X-ray equipment located in medical facilities. The role requires a hands-on approach to provide pro-active environmental, occupational health and safety support to site employees to achieve the goal of zero TIR. In addition, this position is accountable for stewarding implementation of safety management systems and programs to achieve and maintain zero recordable injuries, ensure compliance of OSHA General Industry Standards and Norbord Safety Star certification. Responsibilities: Identify, assess (i.e., measure) and communicate conformance with regulatory and corporate safety expectations. Identify safety-training requirements and facilitate development and implementation of safety training programs. Develop and implement systems and metrics (leading and lagging) to track and communicate safety performance. Develop and steward implementation of strategic safety improvement initiatives to achieve world-class safety culture (as measured by Safety Star certification.) Complete requisite regulatory and corporate recordkeeping and reporting requirements for both Environmental and Health and Safety programs. Ensure compliance with air and water permitting regulations from local, state and federal agencies. Develop strategy to ensure safety and environmental stewardship is included in operating rhythm (pre-shift meetings, daily management meetings, down-day planning, project planning, etc.) Facilitate identification of safety requirements for physical and procedural changes in operations. RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and own the day-to-day EHS site management of a fast-paced, high impact construction project including the responsibilities below: Implement, enforce, and audit the site's construction contractor EHS management program for SpaceX employees involved in or associated with contractor operations, ensuring requirements are understood and followed by contractors and subcontractors performing work for SpaceX Develop and maintain documented safety observations from regular hazard identification inspections of facilities, machinery, safety equipment, and on-site construction to identify, mitigate hazards, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA and NIOSH and other applicable regulatory agencies Collaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments, establish Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, determine safeguards, and implement health and safety policies and procedures to increase safety across all construction sites and projects Ability to monitor and evaluate employee exposure to hazards during nominal processes or emergency situations Develop recommendations for remedial actions when safety policies are not met by employees Educate and provide necessary safety training to construction personnel Investigate and write corresponding reports for incidents, spills, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine root causes, establish corrective actions and preventive measures Develop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations established by the EPA, RCRA, DOT and other applicable regulatory agencies Ensure that resources are allocated appropriately to safety-related items BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in science 3+ years of experience in the design, development and operational oversight of environmental, health and safety disciplines within the construction industry PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in engineering with an emphasis in occupational health and safety Experience in health and safety with commercial/industrial construction projects Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Proficient with the management of high-risk activities including steel fabrication and erection, electrical safety, excavation, confined space, machine guarding, fall protection, material handling, rigging and heavy equipment Bilingual in English and Spanish Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations Strong organizational and communication skills Experience using Uniform Plumbing and Building Codes, National Electric Code Familiarity and implementation of machine guarding and industrial hygiene programs Experience with emergency response communication and incident management in incidents involving hazardous and non-hazardous material releases to air, soil, and water Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Cape Canaveral, FL area Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed ITAR REQUIREMENTS: To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. About the Role:

Grocery Outlet is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead and manage compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for continuous improvement, including ongoing monitoring, evaluating, developing and implementing safety procedures/programs. The candidate will be responsible for safety training, ensuring a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees. This role would have knowledge of all applicable local, state, and federal OSHA and environmental laws and regulations in addition to basic food safety compliance. The Safety Manager reports to the Director of Safety.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct Safety Inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Provide and manage safety training for employees on policies, regulations, and procedures
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to comply with relevant safety regulations
  • Provide regulatory compliance support and consultation to Independent Operators within the guidelines of the company's model
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA and state plans, where applicable
  • Monitor safety performance and maintain injury metrics to track progress, trends, and gaps for corrections.
  • Collaborate with all relevant business partners to investigate and report accidents and incidents, and develop plans to prevent future occurrences
  • Maintain accurate and current records, i.e. training, injury, maintenance etc.
  • Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies to institute changes that lead to a safer work environment
  • Prepare and communicate business updates
  • Assess and recommend improvements and best practices to the hazardous materials and hazardous waste programs to manage risks and ensure compliance with local jurisdictions.
  • Champion an action-oriented culture with a sense of urgency to identify and appropriately manage the safety and environmental risks at all GOI and IO locations.
  • Maintain documented corrective action plans to include regulatory issues, near-miss events, accidents, and injuries.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with local regulatory agencies that affect the business including City, Fire, CUPA, and local OSHA personnel.
  • Complete ergonomic assessments, write reports, and work with HR to obtain necessary equipment.
  • Travel is required and expected to be approximately 50% or as needed by a facility in all states where Grocery Outlet operates.
