WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH As the Environment, Health & Safety Specialist II, you will report to the Manager, Environment, Health & Safety at Nike Air Manufacturing & Innovation (AirMI) and you will work with AirMI teammates, management, and extended EHS team and leadership in a collaborative environment. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR An Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist II who is responsible for building the safety culture and managing day to day safety and compliance operations for the Nike AirMI sites. The EHS Specialist is responsible for building and implementing EHS programs to provide a safe and compliant workplace for Nike teammates, the temporary workforce, and other Nike partners. This position is also responsible for monitoring federal and state regulations to ensure Nike is actively involved in emerging issues and poised to address new and modified regulations. This position is part of a larger global EHS and Resilience team at Nike. 2+ years practical experience with health and safety compliance at a large global company with world class safety programs. Manufacturing experience is a plus. Detailed knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and their state equivalents as well as other applicable industry environmental, health, and safety standards. Demonstrated ability to write, develop and implement all facets of successful and sustainable EHS programs. Proficiency in conducting root cause safety investigations. Demonstrated ability to manage federal, state and local regulatory compliance. Demonstrated ability to effectively and thoroughly audit facilities as well as assist in addressing audit findings. Demonstrated ability to manage EHS data and related documents and compliance records. Demonstrated teamwork and ability to develop relationships at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and train personnel live and by use of computer-based systems. Bachelors or Master’s degree with an emphasis on EHS curriculum preferred. WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON Manages the direction and execution of EHS programs and policies. Engage actively and daily with manufacturing operations with a focus on hazard recognition, safety observations and coaching. Support all aspects of incident oversight including response, reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, identification of corrective and preventative action, and publication of safety alerts as required. Maintains a current working knowledge of EHS regulations and laws. Provide technical and regulatory compliance expertise and support. Participates as Nike representative in global EHS programs and initiatives, which includes contributing to program development. Introduce, educate, and provide training on global programs and processes as appropriate. Continuously drives improvement in health and safety measures. Assist in drafting, preparing required plans and appropriate facility operating procedures. Serves as facility contact for federal, state, and regional health, safety, and environmental agencies. Support and facilitate internal inspections, audits, and self-assessments. Assists operations in addressing audit recommendations. Maintain all site compliance documentation in accordance with the site record management system. Conducts safety training and awareness sessions for Nike employees.   • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and train personnel live and by use of computer-based systems.

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree with an emphasis on EHS curriculum preferred.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • Manages the direction and execution of EHS programs and policies.

  • Engage actively and daily with manufacturing operations with a focus on hazard recognition, safety observations and coaching.

  • Support all aspects of incident oversight including response, reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, identification of corrective and preventative action, and publication of safety alerts as required.

  • Maintains a current working knowledge of EHS regulations and laws. Provide technical and regulatory compliance expertise and support.

  • Participates as Nike representative in global EHS programs and initiatives, which includes contributing to program development. Introduce, educate, and provide training on global programs and processes as appropriate.

  • Continuously drives improvement in health and safety measures.

  • Assist in drafting, preparing required plans and appropriate facility operating procedures.

  • Serves as facility contact for federal, state, and regional health, safety, and environmental agencies.

  • Support and facilitate internal inspections, audits, and self-assessments. Assists operations in addressing audit recommendations.

  • Maintain all site compliance documentation in accordance with the site record management system.

  • Conducts safety training and awareness sessions for Nike employees.

  • Ability to work after normal business hours and/or weekends based on business needs.
