Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Safety & Security and working in collaboration and alongside the LMHS Police Department, the Safety Assistant is responsible for measurably improving and closely monitoring incoming staff, visitor, and patient safety. Responsibilities: Monitor the safety and security of the hospital by ensuring anyone entering through the main lobby passes through the Evolv weapons detection system. Educate patient, visitors, contractors, and staff on the procedures if an alert is received and a possible weapon is detected. Perform secondary screenings with the Garrett handheld metal detector, when applicable. Collaborate with Safety and/or the Police Department to intervene when any form of noncompliance with policy is observed. Have the knowledge and ability to operate handheld radio equipment when needed. Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when interacting with patients, visitors, and staff. Ability to remain calm and professional during high stressful situations. Possess knowledge of Licking Memorial Health Systems policies and procedures, including emergency management processes, and assist visitors, patients, and staff in responding to events. Visitors with a firearm, aside from a law enforcement officer, will be required to return the weapon to their vehicle and secure it before reentering. Visitors with a knife may either return the item to their vehicle or leave the item with the screener in a belongings bag, which may be retrieved when exiting the building. Perform any other task as requested or directed by Safety & Security leadership. Job Description

As a manager on the Safety Data Science & Analytics team, you will help Discord achieve its mission of making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games, while ensuring a safe environment that minimally disrupts positive user experiences.

What you'll be doing

  • Directly manage a 6-person Analytics Data Science team across junior to senior levels, providing right-sized coaching, feedback, and development support.
  • Participate in Safety Leads group, building strong cross-functional relationships and contributing data-driven perspectives to safety strategy.
  • Ensure quality of deliverables across the team through direct review or delegation to senior team members, maintaining and improving existing processes.
  • Up-level the team's ability to have more strategic impact by improving processes, stakeholder management, and driving ruthless prioritization.
  • Develop your own strategic point of view of how Safety can be improved at Discord and drive change via thought leadership and/or deliverables from your team.

What you should have

  • Direct experience on Safety or Integrity teams at consumer tech companies, with background in content moderation, scaled abuse detection (spam/scams), and/or teen safety initiatives.
  • 2+ years directly managing teams of 3+ individuals with demonstrated ability to build and maintain high-performing DS teams.
  • 5+ years in data science or analytics as an IC with proficiency in SQL and R or Python, plus willingness to contribute technically when needed.
  • Expertise in product analytics, experimentation, A/B testing, and product strategy.
  • Excellent communication and proven ability to translate complex technical findings into clear insights for stakeholders across all technical levels.
  • Experience scaling and automating self-service analytics through tools like Tableau, Looker, or PowerBI.
  • Experience or strong perspective in safety or risk domains with ability to apply data science to these business areas.
  • Strong management philosophy aligned with building autonomous, accountable teams while driving business impact.
  • Collaborative, low‑ego, and user‑obsessed. Bias to action and learning.

Bonus Points

  • Experience collaborating with compliance, legal, or litigation cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with mature data platforms and engineering stacks including DBT, Dagster, or Airflow.
  • Experience applying causal inference or ML to guide product decisions at scale.
  • Passion for Discord, gaming, and/or online communities.

Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000 to $279,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
