Reporting to the VP Operations, the Director, Environmental, Health and Safety is responsible for playing a crucial role in managing and reducing risk while embodying the proactive and innovative spirit that defines our culture. You will oversee all EHS critical metrics and objectives across the company, including multi-site operations, sales, and office environments. The ideal candidate will foster a collaborative culture within our operations and sales teams to promote a zero-incident and injury-free workplace. This role is both hands-on and strategic, requiring the ability to influence long-term decision-making to ensure the safety of our associates. You will lead a dedicated team of 5-8 professionals who directly coordinate the EHS program, overseeing the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of EHS personnel. This position is based onsite in Glen Allen, VA. Requires 35-40% travel to support various operations areas, including international travel to Latin America. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deploy strategies to enhance organizational performance with a focus on culture, influence, and risk mitigation. Lead the development of company-wide, multi-year EHS strategies to provide program direction for associates and steering committees, ensuring continuous EHS performance. Set annual goals based on known gaps and prioritized risks for both manufacturing facilities and field sales globally. Partner with business leaders to integrate EHS routines into performance expectations for every associate across the organization. Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with ChemTreat and Veralto Corporation, as well as Federal, State, and local regulations and policies covering areas like hazard identification, risk assessment, incident management, safety training, and emergency response. Ensure adequate and appropriate safety, environmental, and regulatory training for ChemTreat associates and EHS professionals. Develop training programs, secure external training as needed, and select or recommend sources for training aids and materials. Ensure all incidents are properly reported, thoroughly investigated, and closed with effective and sustained corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence. Provide leadership in risk assessment, change management and business continuity planning. Develop, track, and communicate metrics, trends, and key performance indicators for EHS and sustainability. Ensure team competency at each location (both internal and external) globally to meet regulatory requirements of EHS. Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste and environmental impact. Monitor, report, and evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability program implementations. Align proposals for sustainability projects with cost effectiveness, technical feasibility, and integration with other initiatives. Lead waste, water, and energy reduction efforts through Veralto Enterprise System tools to achieve absolute reductions. Manage the Workers' Compensation program and Incident and Injury case management. Oversee the Property Risk Insurance program by partnering with plants on FM global actions. Oversee the department budget and expenditures to meet financial goals. Manage ISO 14001 and be familiar with ISO 45001 programs. The essential requirements of the job include: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited college or university, Master's degree in EHS subject area or MBA, or experience in leading manufacturing operations requiring knowledge of EHS regulatory requirements. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or other EHS related certification preferred. 10 years EHS experience with 5 years' direct supervisory experience or leadership equivalent in influencing EHS culture and compliance initiatives. Experience working in a LEAN or continual improvement environment and ability to apply continual improvement concepts to EHS excellence. International experience preferred. Experience managing Field Sales and fleet safety programs is ideal. Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus but not required. The compensation range for this role is $175,000 - $195,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay. BelovED Community Charter School, the largest charter school in Jersey City, serves more than 1,600 scholars across multiple academies and is preparing for significant growth, including a newly constructed campus and an additional location opening in Fall 2028.

We are seeking a seasoned, mission-driven security leader to serve as our Director of School Safety & Security. This role is responsible for building, leading, and continuously improving a comprehensive school safety program that protects scholars, staff, families, and facilities-today and as BelovED expands into the future.

This is a leadership role that blends strategic vision, operational leadership, and strong community partnership.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Personnel Management

  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate all school security personnel
  • Establish clear post orders, performance expectations, and accountability systems
  • Ensure appropriate security coverage for daily operations, after-school programming, weekends, and special events
  • Manage timekeeping, payroll submissions, and personnel documentation

School Safety Systems & Operations

  • Develop, implement, and maintain school safety protocols, SOPs, and emergency procedures
  • Serve as system administrator for all security infrastructure, including:
  • Access control systems
  • Campus and transportation camera systems
  • Visitor management and student sign-out systems
  • Radios, alarms, and key management
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and vendor support for all security-related systems

Crisis Response & Compliance

  • Serve as the school's safety leader and secondary point of contact for law enforcement incidents
  • Maintain incident logs, documentation, and after-action reviews
  • Investigate safety-related incidents including theft, vandalism, harassment, and physical altercations
  • Ensure compliance with NJDOE guidance, MOA requirements with law enforcement, and applicable NJ statutes
  • Complete annual school safety audits and reviews

Strategic Planning & Future Expansion

  • Design and communicate a long-term vision for school safety across multiple campuses
  • Partner with IT, Facilities, and Operations to plan security infrastructure for new construction
  • Evaluate and manage external security vendors as needed, including potential 24/7 coverage models
