The position pays $17/hr.  Proof of COVID-19 vaccine is required. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform daily inspections of all clients’ rooms Escort clients to appointments as needed Interact with and monitor client’s behavior and maintain good rapport by providing excellent customer service.  Encourage clients to comply with facility policy and procedures. Control access at the main entrance by screening all clients, and visitors, utilizing magnetometer / x-ray machine to detect and prevent weapons from entering the site.   Perform Crisis Intervene to de-escalate potential crisis situations and document all such situations and interventions. Make hourly rounds throughout entire facility including all hallways, stairwells, floors, bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchen, and office spaces. Respond to incidents Assist with client intakes Perform daily pack ups and logging of client property belonging to AWOL clients Store and remove client property once the mandated storage time have expired Maintain a clean and organized storage area Complete logs, incident reports and all other required documentation. Make calls to police, fire department and other first responders as directed. Perform administrative and receptionist duties at the operations desk; monitor video surveillance cameras, and fire prevention / detection alarm notification system. Provide duties related to fire incident, evacuation of the building when necessary, utilizing Fire procedure. Ensure the safety and security of all assigned equipment. Perform other tasks as assigned. EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED and prior security experience required. Must have NYS Security Guard License, current 8 Hour Annual Certificate and Fire Guard License (F02).  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) preferred. Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends and overtime if necessary. The PSA Specialist will be called upon to employ event tree and fault tree modeling methods for characterizing the nuclear plant’s safety metrics and will actively participate in requirements development, detailed development, engineering analysis and technical documentation. Minimum required qualifications include: MS degree in Nuclear Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or closely related field of engineering. Minimum 3 years of experience in PSA modeling; strong analytical, problem-solving, effective communication and interpersonal and computer skills. Additional desirable qualifications include: Experience in commercial nuclear or naval nuclear design and/or operation. Experience in safety analysis of Pressurized Water-type reactors (PWR); Experience with using CAFTA, MELCOR, RELAP, RADTRAD, GOTHIC and/or other conventional computer codes for NPP model development and risk quantification and experience with Thermal-Hydraulic Analysis and/or Component Reliability Analysis and/or Human Reliability Analysis. Other desirable experience includes familiarity with the CAFTA suite of computer codes and ability to perform system level and plant level quantification, uncertainty analysis, and sensitivity analysis. Experience with cut set reviews, Internal Flood PSA development, Low Power and Shutdown PSA development, Fire PSA development, Seismic Margins analysis, High Winds or External Flood analysis is also desirable. Specific Areas of Responsibility: Execute key PSA activities as a member of the multinational PSA team, including engineering analyses and technical documentation; Interact with team members from other disciplines and vendors to help identify and recommend potential SMR-300 design and operational improvements using PSA risk insights; develop and implement PSA methodologies for internal and external events; and  perform system level and plant level quantification, uncertainty analysis, and sensitivity analysis. Givens Highland Farms is hiring for full-time Safety and Security Officers to support our Black Mountain campus. This position will support our weekend day shifts, working 1pm to 7pm on Thursdays and 7am to 7pm Friday through Sunday. The Safety and Security Officer position has the primary role to provide access control to the Givens Communities campuses, respond to campus emergencies, provide traffic control, patrol the campus, investigate safety/security instances and report, conduct safety drills, monitor alarms, secure buildings, ensure visitors sign in, provide light duty maintenance tasks, and provide transportation for residents. What you'll do: Monitor emergency call dashboard for alarms/alerts and respond accordingly Reset Pendants/Pull Cords Maintain information of active BOLO notices, trespass notices, and/or restraining order information for team member/resident concerns Handle situations dealing with unauthorized vehicles not willing to exit campus Assist EMS personnel. Provide directions or locate residences, provide other support in emergency situations Investigate any safety and security instances and respond accordingly. Provide appropriate documentation of event Conduct safety drills including but not limited to fire alarm training in the licensed areas of campus Assist in keeping campus clean by picking up litter/debris in and around buildings Acts as security for and responds to staff and/or resident related issues. SALARY:                      $19.25 PER HOUR

 

SUMMARY: 

The Safety Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all client’s, staff, and the property around the facility in a homeless shelter setting.  The populations served are single men.  This position reports to the Shift Supervisor and Security Manager of the Facility. The position pays $17/hr.  Proof of COVID-19 vaccine is required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily inspections of all clients’ rooms
  • Escort clients to appointments as needed
  • Interact with and monitor client’s behavior and maintain good rapport by providing excellent customer service.  Encourage clients to comply with facility policy and procedures.
  • Control access at the main entrance by screening all clients, and visitors, utilizing magnetometer / x-ray machine to detect and prevent weapons from entering the site.  
  • Perform Crisis Intervene to de-escalate potential crisis situations and document all such situations and interventions.
  • Make hourly rounds throughout entire facility including all hallways, stairwells, floors, bathrooms, laundry rooms, kitchen, and office spaces.
  • Respond to incidents
  • Assist with client intakes
  • Perform daily pack ups and logging of client property belonging to AWOL clients
  • Store and remove client property once the mandated storage time have expired
  • Maintain a clean and organized storage area
  • Complete logs, incident reports and all other required documentation.
  • Make calls to police, fire department and other first responders as directed.
  • Perform administrative and receptionist duties at the operations desk; monitor video surveillance cameras, and fire prevention / detection alarm notification system.
  • Provide duties related to fire incident, evacuation of the building when necessary, utilizing Fire procedure.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all assigned equipment.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED and prior security experience required. Must have NYS Security Guard License, current 8 Hour Annual Certificate and Fire Guard License (F02).  Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary. Certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) preferred. Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends and overtime if necessary.
