Job Summary We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Industrial Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at GKN Aerospace in Garden Grove, CA. This role is critical to ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for employees involved in the manufacturing of aircraft windows and canopies using chemical processes. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Cal-OSHA regulations and a strong background in managing programs related to hazardous waste, stormwater, confined spaces, fall protection, and respiratory protection. Job Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs in compliance with Cal-OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations. Lead and manage site-specific programs including: Stormwater pollution prevention Hazardous waste handling and disposal (RCRA) Confined space entry Fall protection systems Respiratory protection and fit testing Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues especially in establishing new processes, evaluating new equipment, and with transfer of work processes including utilizing a new workforce. Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns using root cause analysis; implement corrective and preventive actions. Deliver training and maintain documentation for all EHS programs, including onboarding, emergency response, and PPE use. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe work practices and continuous improvement. Support environmental compliance reporting and permit renewals related to air emissions, stormwater, and hazardous materials. Promote a culture of safety through employee engagement, toolbox talks, and participation in safety committees. Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related fields. 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving chemical processes. Working knowledge of Cal-OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards. Experience managing programs in hazardous waste, stormwater, confined spaces, fall protection, and respiratory protection. Strong communication, training, and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent certification. Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Industrial Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at GKN Aerospace in Garden Grove, CA. This role is critical to ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for employees involved in the manufacturing of aircraft windows and canopies using chemical processes. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Cal-OSHA regulations and a strong background in managing programs related to hazardous waste, stormwater, confined spaces, fall protection, and respiratory protection.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety programs in compliance with Cal-OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.

  • Lead and manage site-specific programs including:

  • Stormwater pollution prevention

  • Hazardous waste handling and disposal (RCRA)

  • Confined space entry

  • Fall protection systems

  • Respiratory protection and fit testing

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues especially in establishing new processes, evaluating new equipment, and with transfer of work processes including utilizing a new workforce.

  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns using root cause analysis; implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Deliver training and maintain documentation for all EHS programs, including onboarding, emergency response, and PPE use.

  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe work practices and continuous improvement.

  • Support environmental compliance reporting and permit renewals related to air emissions, stormwater, and hazardous materials.

  • Promote a culture of safety through employee engagement, toolbox talks, and participation in safety committees.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably involving chemical processes.
  • Working knowledge of Cal-OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.
  • Experience managing programs in hazardous waste, stormwater, confined spaces, fall protection, and respiratory protection.
  • Strong communication, training, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent certification.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.

Compensation Data

Compensation Range: $80,869.00 - $101,087.00
