Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Assist in developing and implementing strategies for reducing and eliminating injuries, illness and other incidents in a manner that effectively ensures the attainment of business unit targets and objectives. Support pre-job safety planning meetings to plan for potential hazards and problems prior to start of job, and develop emergency response plans for projects. Develop work safety and health plans on time in a fast-paced environment. Initiate, coordinate and lead safety meetings and training programs to ensure the effective communication of company policy and procedures. Independently initiate, perform and document safety and health audits, evaluations, inspections and/or behavioral observations throughout the Company’s operations and communicate and facilitate the implementation of corrective and preventative actions. Assist in the investigation of injury, illness and general liability incidents. Develop and issue regular safety and health correspondence. Provide updated information to team members regarding updates to company or regulatory requirement changes. Self-identify team members that need assistance, training, or support meeting the Company safety and health requirements. Coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors, vendors and third-party personnel to ensure adherence to Company safety policies and procedures. Serve as a point of contact for any federal, state or municipal safety or risk management authority and/or personnel, including but not limited to OSHA, when the Company Safety Manager is not available. Education and Experience: Bachelor degree in Safety and Health or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience. Targeting 3-6+ years of experience with safety and health in the construction industry is preferred, with experience in the aforementioned project types a strong plus. However, all experience levels will be considered with corresponding changes to the role (i.e. title, responsibilities/deliverables) to align with the career trajectory of the candidate. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations as well as other state/federal safety regulations and company safety policies/procedures. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interface effectively with company and private client representatives. Excellent organization skills and the ability to independently prioritize. Ability to think independently, communicate thoroughly and influence the implementation of the appropriate corrective and preventative actions. This position focuses on implementing Just Culture principles, promoting High Reliability Organization practices, and managing patient safety incidents and follow up action plans, and ensuring compliance with CMS Patient Safety Structural Measure requirements. The Patient Safety Manager collaborates across departments to proactively identify processes that need improvement, implement corrective actions, and foster an environment where safety is a shared priority. The Patient Safety Manager is responsible for the direction and leadership of the culture of safety and delivery of safe and highly reliable care at Salinas Valley Health Medical Center. Responsible for the Patient Safety Program in collaboration with the Patient Safety Officer. The manager reports to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety and works closely with the SVHMC stakeholders and leadership. 1. Just Culture and High Reliability Practices Lead the sustainment of a Just Culture framework to promote transparency, accountability, and learning from incidents. Support leadership and staff in integrating High Reliability Organization principles into daily operations to enhance system safety and reliability. Develop and deliver educational programs to promote safety awareness and Just Culture principles across all levels of the organization. Designs/redesigns, implements, evaluates and collaboratively maintains the Salinas Valley Heath Medical Center’s Patient Safety Program 2. Patient Safety Data and Patient Safety Incident Management Oversee the reporting, investigation, and resolution of patient safety incidents using the RLDatix system. Conduct safety incident debriefs, root cause analyses and action planning (RCA2) and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) to identify contributing factors and implement corrective action plans. Ensures that success measures are implemented, tracked and sustained in collaboration with unit and department leaders. Monitor trends and develop actionable insights from incident data to mitigate risks and improve outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely and effective response to adverse events. 3. CMS Patient Safety Structural Measure Compliance Ensure hospital compliance with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Patient Safety Structural Measure requirements. Coordinate data collection, analysis, and reporting to demonstrate performance in patient safety domains. Partner with Quality Improvement teams to address gaps and sustain compliance with regulatory standards. 4. Data-Driven Decision Making, Reporting, and Performance Improvement Prepare and present reports on patient safety performance, trends, and program outcomes to leadership and relevant committees. The EH&S Manager monitors established safety programs within all manufacturing facilities. The role guides the implementation of procedures and programs to minimize environmental health and safety risks in the workplace to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements, including OSHA, ISO 14001, and EPA. What you will do for UGN: Safety and Health Reinforce the proactive prevention-oriented policies and programs to ensure the safety and health of our team members. Provide support to the HR Managers regarding OSHA complaint responses and onsite OSHA visits. Confirm that proper safety precautions are in place at the time of set-up of new programs, retooling, etc., as directed and developed by the EHS Director. Partners with manufacturing facilities, Human Resources, and the Learning & Development Manager to enhance the company's safety culture. Works in collaboration with manufacturing facilities managers, engineering, and human resources to ensure that proper safety practices are being followed through frequent manufacturing facility visits. Works in collaboration with the manufacturing facility managers, engineering, and HR to ensure compliance with required safety practices in accordance with the company safety program and provide resources to achieve compliance. Provide leadership in developing, implementing, and managing EH&S policies, programs, and practices. Assist with maintaining the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) archive and communicating chemical hazards and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Audit Job Safety Analysis. Help develop activities of safety committees in the manufacturing facilities by providing corporate direction for committees. Assists in accident/incident investigations requiring tracking and follow-up actions. Partner with manufacturing facilities on the company LOTO safety compliance program and assist plant personnel with procedures. Other duties as may be assigned. Environmental Manage environmental project activities as assigned by the EHS Director. Work with the manufacturing facilities to ensure Company obtains appropriate licenses and environmental permits. Review the environmental risk of activities with the manufacturing facilities per the EHS Director. Assist the manufacturing facilities personnel and management to maintain compliance with government environmental regulations as directed by the EHS Director. Work with the EHS Director and the manufacturing facilities to ensure the necessary information is available to timely file the required environmental reports. Maintain working knowledge of current and proposed government environmental codes, standards, regulations and guidelines. Support manufacturing facilities approach to ISO14001 certification. What you will bring to UGN: Associate or Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B. A.) from an accredited four-year college or university with a safety or engineering focus. 3 - 5+ years of safety-specific experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent understanding of OSHA regulations and various state health, safety, and environmental regulations. Experience with LOTO (lock out tag out) guidelines and practices in industrial manufacturing environments. Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience interacting with all levels of plant personnel. Experience in reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions to groups of managers and Team Members in the manufacturing facilities. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook, etc. Specialized safety training certificates preferred (OSHA 10, OSHA 30, etc.). Ability to travel up to 30%. Job Description:

Responsible for providing field support services and assisting managers, supervisors and team members with the implementation of specific Company and Client Safety and Health policies and procedures. Regulatory compliance, and continual improvement of the overall performance of the Company in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s Core Values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies for reducing and eliminating injuries, illness and other incidents in a manner that effectively ensures the attainment of business unit targets and objectives.

  • Provide training and education to Company personnel regarding safety and health requirements.

  • Support pre-job safety planning meetings to plan for potential hazards and problems prior to start of job, and develop emergency response plans for projects. Develop work safety and health plans on time in a fast-paced environment.

  • Initiate, coordinate and lead safety meetings and training programs to ensure the effective communication of company policy and procedures.

  • Independently initiate, perform and document safety and health audits, evaluations, inspections and/or behavioral observations throughout the Company’s operations and communicate and facilitate the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.

  • Assist in the investigation of injury, illness and general liability incidents.

  • Develop and issue regular safety and health correspondence.

  • Provide updated information to team members regarding updates to company or regulatory requirement changes.

  • Self-identify team members that need assistance, training, or support meeting the Company safety and health requirements.

  • Coordinate project safety programs with subcontractors, vendors and third-party personnel to ensure adherence to Company safety policies and procedures.

  • Serve as a point of contact for any federal, state or municipal safety or risk management authority and/or personnel, including but not limited to OSHA, when the Company Safety Manager is not available.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Safety and Health or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience.

  • Targeting 3-6+ years of experience with safety and health in the construction industry is preferred, with experience in the aforementioned project types a strong plus.

  • However, all experience levels will be considered with corresponding changes to the role (i.e. title, responsibilities/deliverables) to align with the career trajectory of the candidate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations as well as other state/federal safety regulations and company safety policies/procedures.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interface effectively with company and private client representatives.

  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to independently prioritize.

  • Ability to think independently, communicate thoroughly and influence the implementation of the appropriate corrective and preventative actions.

  • Ability to work in high production environment (50+ hours/week, including nights and weekends) and respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines.

  • Ability to make independent judgments to manage and facilitate company programs/policies as they relate to the safety of our work.

  • Ability to positively interact and influence front line supervisors and field personnel to create a safe work environment.

Certificates Licenses and Registrations:

  • Must have valid driver's license, good driving record required.

  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred.

  • OSHA 30-Hour and 10-Hour Trainer certification preferred.
