The Paraprofessional will work under the supervision of a certificated Education Specialist who will provide weekly oversight, training, and direction. Antioch, TN 37013 Schedule: 7:15-4:30pm, Monday-Friday Essential Functions Implement individual and small group instruction for students special education needs under the direction of the special education case manager Collaborate with students' case managers to assess student progress towards goals on a consistent basis; communicate student progress with case managers and general education teachers Collaborate with all staff members to ensure that all students have consistent and well-coordinated support and communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to positive staff culture Partner with families on the academic and social progress and needs of a student Provide accommodations and/or modifications to learners with disabilities to provide access to grade level content and demonstrate her or his true understanding on assessments as determined by the IEP team in collaboration with general educators Ensure that all students realize rigorous academic goals outlined in their IEP along with our core content. Position Description: The Program Assistant will report administratively to the Louisiana Program Co-State Coordinators of the Louisiana Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Professional Development Program (SARE PDP). The successful candidate will support sustainable agriculture programming at the state level under the direction of the Co-State Coordinators. The program assistant will assist both state coordinators in carrying out various aspects of the SARE PDP including assisting with field days, training sessions, and workshops and also promotion of SARE programs, resources, and grant opportunities. The program assistant will coordinate travel to regional conferences. Acts as primary resource for providers, clinical and administrative staff for coding questions and research related to revenue enhancement and correct coding. I. Major Responsibilities: Serves as a gatekeeper to ensure that regular and annual CGT updates compliant with third party regulatory and coding billing guidelines and reflect clinical practice. Collaborates with clinical / ancillary departments to facilitate proper use of CGT files as well as synchronization of preference lists and orders in IT applications. Ensures system wide compliance with federal, state and local regulations with regard to charge codes and related information in the CGT. Ensures standardized CGT request processes are followed. Reviews all assigned edits within prescribed timeframe and routes to appropriate owner for resolution. Provides support and guidance to clinical and RI / Charge Capture staff to resolve outstanding edits. Monitors daily edits reports and alerts clinical departments of delinquencies. Provides regulatory (coding and billing) support to clinical charge capture specialists to address CGT, coding, charge capture and billing questions. Utilizes subject matter knowledge to support proper interpretation and analysis of performance report(s). Utilizes reporting and data analysis in combination with standard benchmarks and criteria to identify and follow-up on potential revenue integrity issues. Ensures the CGT structure supports effective capture of all chargeable services based on a thorough knowledge of the regulatory requirements, IT applications and charge capture processes. Provides subject matter knowledge related to the CGT for clinical departments, revenue cycle team, finance, compliance and administrative staff. Provides accurate feedback and documentation to support educational needs. Develops and conducts educational courses and seminars focusing on professional documentation, coding and billing for physicians, clinicians, administrative staff and Professional Billing Central Billing Office (PBCBO) staff. Develops training programs and supporting materials relative to physician coding and billing guidelines and protocols to ensure that specific areas of need are addressed and that all materials comply with applicable rules and regulations. Participates in PBCBO staff training on coding and billing guidelines. Monitors CMS and applicable third party coding and billing publications, and abstracts key information relative to established coding and billing policies and procedures for distribution to UMMMG stakeholders (clinical, administrative, compliance, PFS, finance). Researches third party coding and billing guidelines and ensures timely and accurate compliance with federal, state, local payer requirements as well as UMMMG contracts specific to charging, coding, bundling and unbundling, modifier reporting requirements. Leads annual review process by providing updates regarding CPT, CMS regulatory updates, professional society publications (e.g., ASA) for clinical, administrative, compliance, revenue cycle, and finance. Performs quality audits and reviews of focused patient accounts to identify improvement opportunities in clinical documentation, charge capture and coding. Provides audit feedback to key clinical and revenue cycle stakeholders for continuous improvement. Monitors downtime forms for each billing area. Collaborates with clinical charge capture analyst to ensure that downtime procedure is maintained.   • Partner with families on the academic and social progress and needs of a student
  • Provide accommodations and/or modifications to learners with disabilities to provide access to grade level content and demonstrate her or his true understanding on assessments as determined by the IEP team in collaboration with general educators
  • Ensure that all students realize rigorous academic goals outlined in their IEP along with our core content. Our goal is that each Rocketeer grows at least 1.5 years
  • Implement behavior management strategies during small group and individual instruction in order to support student engagement
  • Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment
  • Collect and provide feedback for the development of Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) or Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) as needed
  • Assist in the implementation of BIPs, which may involve positive reinforcement strategies, behavior modification, or other skills to maintain appropriate behaviors
  • Record data for individualized instructional programs and positive behavior support plans
  • Support a spectrum of needs for life skills, including but not limited to: toileting and diapering, assist with hygiene, feeding and other daily life skills
  • Provide appropriate crisis intervention as necessary, using the least restrictive method by anticipating and responding quickly and appropriately to escalating behaviors

Qualifications

  • A team player who is detail-oriented, resourceful and able to manage his/her responsibility with confidence and discretion
  • Comfort in a start-up environment with flexibility Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
  • Passion for working with young children
  • At least 2 years of college or passing score on Rocketship's Paraprofessional Assessment required
  • Experience working with students with disabilities preferred

$21 - $25.50 an hour

Compensation does not include the Summer Break period, typically from the last day of school (May 23) through July 7

Compensation is based on your education and years of experience specifically working with children.
