- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on students' unique needs.
- Provide specialized instruction and academic interventions in resource and inclusive classroom settings.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to plan, deliver, and adapt instruction through a co-teaching model.
- Modify curriculum, assignments, instructional strategies, and assessments to support student success.
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
- Support students in accessing grade-level curriculum through accommodations and evidence-based instructional practices.
- Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and parent conferences.
- Implement positive behavior supports and strategies that promote student engagement and achievement.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment that promotes academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field preferred.
- Active South Carolina Special Education certification required or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Experience providing resource services, inclusion support, or co-teaching in a school setting preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development, special education compliance, differentiated instruction, accommodations, and behavior management strategies.
- Strong collaboration, communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary educational team.
- School-based positions serving students across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels.
- Resource room and inclusive classroom settings.
- Collaborative co-teaching environments alongside general education staff.
- Average caseload of approximately 33 students.
- Supportive multidisciplinary teams focused on student achievement and success.
