SSD Psychology: Staff and Temporary Employees
About the Department
The lab manager will be working under Professor Oishi, Department of Psychology, Social Sciences Division.
Job Summary
The job provides technical support activities related to scientific research projects. Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Assists in drafting presentations on research findings.
The person hired is expected to organize activities of the culture, social ecology, and well-being lab, including scheduling of lab, assistance in data collection and analysis, and literature search.
Responsibilities
- Organizing daily lab activities
- Assisting pre-registration, data collection, data cleaning, data visualization, and data analysis
- Assisting literature search, editing study materials, papers and chapters
- Supervising and training undergraduate research assistants, scheduling shifts, monitoring their day-to-day activity, and approving time
- Provides technical and administrative support for a research project
- Collects and enters data. Assists in analyzing data. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents
- Performs other related work as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology or related disciplines, excellent upper-undergraduate level knowledge of psychology
Experience:
- 1 year of research experience

- Demonstrated skills and knowledge to appreciate cultural diversity, excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, excellent writing and communication skills
