Role Summary As the Document Control Technical Writer, you will own the creation, release, governance, and continuous improvement of engineering and quality documentation that enables reliable build, test, and delivery of Red 6 hardware. You'll author and maintain assembly and test procedures, ensure Manufacturing Execution System (MES) content is accurate and usable on the floor, and manage QMS artifacts such as WIs, CARs/SCARs, calibration and preventive maintenance records, and KPI dashboards. You'll be the connective tissue between Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Supply Chain, and Quality. What You'll Do Engineering & Manufacturing Documentation Author, edit, and version control assembly procedures, test procedures, acceptance test plans (ATPs), travelers, and shop aids from engineering BOMs, drawings, and schematics. Establish clear illustrations, annotated photos, and step sequencing to drive repeatable build quality and cycletime reduction. Partner with Manufacturing/Test Engineers to validate procedures during pilots and NPI builds; capture lessons learned and update revisions rapidly. Maintain calibration and preventive maintenance records, manage recall schedules, and document out-of-tolerance investigations. Support internal audits, supplier audits, and external audits; prepare objective evidence and training records. Document Control & Governance Own the document lifecycle-numbering, metadata, drafting, review/approval workflows, release, change control (ECO/MCO), and archival-in SharePoint (and related PLM/eQMS/ERP tools as applicable). Build intuitive SharePoint libraries with security, versioning, and search optimized via content types and required metadata. Metrics & Continuous Improvement Design and publish KPI dashboards in Power BI (e.g., FPY, DPPM, on-time build, CAR closure lead time, rework rates, downtime drivers, calibration recall compliance). Use data to prioritize improvements, simplify instructions, and reduce variability; present findings to Operations leadership. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and assist customers promptly: Approach and acknowledge customers immediately, providing assistance and handling multiple customers efficiently.
  • Understand and meet customer needs: Assess customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing them to merchandise, and offering recommendations. Engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability.
  • Promote store events and promotions: Inform customers about current store events, promotions, and special activities to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales.
  • Resolve customer concerns: Address customer issues and use product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges when possible.
  • Communicate needs to management: Regularly inform management about merchandise restocking, service requirements, and any customer feedback in a timely manner.
  • Support team and company goals: Collaborate with the team to achieve overall store and company objectives, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 16 years old
  • Available to work a flexible schedule
  • Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (such as cash registers, hand-held and mobile devices)
  • Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers
  • Able to handle customer interactions and potential issues/concerns courteously and professionally
  • Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems
  • Ability to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on- the-job training

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Frequently operate cash register
  • Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and places/removes merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feet
  • Frequently ascend/descend ladders in order to retrieve and put away stock
  • Frequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floor
  • Frequently communicate and exchange information with customers on the telephone and face-to-face in the store, as well as with managers and coworkers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • Frequently move across the sales floor assisting customers, as well as to and from the stock room retrieving and putting away merchandise
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require day, evening, weekends and may include overnight shifts and travel (as required)
  • Must be able to identify and discern email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and standard operating procedures
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary, upright position for 80% of the time
