In this vital role you will lead and manage multiple technology platforms that support the Law Department at Amgen. Sr Manager Information Systems - Law and Compliance Technology

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will lead and manage multiple technology platforms that support the Law Department at Amgen. This includes Matter Management System, eBilling, Intellectual Property and Trademark Management System, Contract Lifecycle Management Systems and related systems that enable efficient, compliant and secure legal operations. This role will engage directly with business owners to manage the technical product vision and roadmap and lead the Agile Product Team to deliver scalable, user-centric solutions. You will collaborate with key customers to identify business needs, develop technology roadmaps, manage technology projects, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions. Your leadership and strategic approach will enable you to drive innovation, optimize system performance, and enhance the overall capabilities to support the Law Department’s goals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor enabling the Amgen Law Department to accomplish their goals through the effective use of technology

  • Partner with key internal customers and team members to develop and implement solution roadmaps, define opportunities and prioritize projects

  • Lead the technical product vision and roadmap for Law platforms, including Matter Management System, eBilling, Intellectual Property and Trademark Management System, Contract Lifecycle Management Systems.

  • Manage technical product team members operating in a SAFe Agile environment

  • Translate business needs into detailed technical user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria.

  • Collaborate with platform administrators, developers, and business analysts to design and configure solutions.

  • Lead quarterly planning, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release coordination using Agile methodologies.

  • Serve as the primary contact for Law Technology, including integrations and application configuration.

  • Oversee integrations with various platforms and enterprise systems.

  • Manage UAT planning, test case validation, and production deployment oversight.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to leverage enterprise solutions.

  • Monitor technical performance to inform continuous improvement and decision-making

  • Ensure performance and operational excellence in the maintenance of products and capabilities

  • Participate in strategic and budgetary planning processes

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of technical product management experience OR

  • Master’s degree and 4 years of technical product management experience OR

  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of technical product management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience leading technical product development, ideally in a complex environment.

  • Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams using Agile or hybrid development methodologies.

  • Certification in Product Management or Agile/Scrum frameworks.

  • Background in life sciences, biotechnology, or Law and Compliance technology.

  • Prior experience as a Technical Product Owner or Lead Technical Business Analyst.

  • Exposure to ML/AI use cases in Law or corporate functions management contexts.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strategic thinking with the ability to balance short-term deliverables and long-term vision.

  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage cross-functional deliverables.

  • Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and collaboration platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Experience with sourcing and managing suppliers
