We seek a Part-Time IT Support Intern responsible for providing reliable technical support and managing physical assets for our US-based employees, ensuring smooth operations in coordination with our remote IT Manager.

What You'll Do:

  • IT Liaison: Work closely with CISO, providing timely updates on local support trends, critical system failures, and asset needs.
  • Local Vendor Management: Under the direction of the IT Manager, coordinate with local US service providers (e.g., internet providers, repair services) for troubleshooting or procurement.
  • End-User Support: Serve as the primary, first-line point of contact for US employees, resolving local hardware, software, and network issues via remote assistance, ticketing system, and phone.
  • Troubleshooting: Independently diagnose and resolve common computer issues related to operating systems (Mac/Windows), core applications (Slack, Google Workspace), and VPN/access issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all support requests, resolutions, and configurations within the ticketing system.
  • Hardware Provisioning: Manage the procurement, preparation, storage, and ordering of standardized hardware (laptops, monitors, headsets, etc.) for new hires and equipment refresh cycles.
  • Inventory Tracking: Maintain a clean, accurate inventory of all company-owned IT assets, location, and assignment status.
  • Local Logistics: Coordinate equipment collection, storage, wiping, and disposal for departing employees.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Prior experience (e.g., academic projects, internships, or personal experience) providing basic technical support or troubleshooting hardware is highly preferred.
  • Foundational knowledge of modern operating systems, primarily macOS.
  • Familiarity with standard remote work collaboration tools (Google Workspace/Microsoft 365, Slack/Zoom) and basic networking concepts (VPN, Wi-Fi connectivity).
  • Comfortable managing and tracking physical IT assets (laptops, peripherals).
  • High level of reliability and independence, capable of managing a consistent part-time schedule without direct, daily supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for explaining technical issues clearly and calmly to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving and documentation skills, focusing on accurately tracking issues in a ticketing system.
