Job Description
The Client is a globally recognized technology manufacturer and pioneer in direct liquid cooling solutions for data centers, supercomputers, and high-performance computing environments. Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, the Client designs and produces cooling infrastructure deployed by many of the world’s largest hyperscalers and enterprise technology organizations. With demand for generative AI, cloud computing, and HPC accelerating at an unprecedented pace, the Client is expanding its Field Operations team to support a growing global customer base.
The Client is hiring a Field Service Engineer (FSE) to support customers across global deployment sites. This is a hands-on, field-facing role ideal for a journeyman-certified trades professional with experience in mission-critical data center environments, direct liquid cooling systems, hydronic systems, or HVAC/plumbing infrastructure. Reporting to the Manager of Field Service Operations, this role is responsible for on-site installations, preventative and corrective maintenance, technical training, and remote support, while serving as a subject matter expert across the Client’s product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & On-Site Support
- Perform on-site and remote installations of the Client’s direct liquid cooling (DLC) products at customer facilities worldwide.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on DLC systems, ensuring uptime and performance in mission-critical environments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical schematics, and engineering drawings as required on-site.
Technical Support & Consultation
- Provide expert technical support to Authorized Service Providers (ASPs) and end-user technicians, including those operating Tier 3 and Tier 4 data centers.
- Offer plumbing and HVAC consultation to internal cross-functional teams including Lab Technicians, Engineers, Product Managers, Sales, and Production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve field issues by following established service processes and coordinating with ASPs as needed.
- Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Develop and deliver technical training to customers, service technicians, and internal staff, both in person and remotely.
- Build and maintain deep subject matter expertise across the Client’s product portfolio to support customers and colleagues with accurate, current knowledge.
Project & Service Coordination
- Coordinate and dispatch field service visits with end users and Authorized Service Providers.
- Support the Project Engineering team by sourcing accurate quotations from ASPs.
- Complete thorough service documentation, including field reports, system testing records, and maintenance logs.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all field activities comply with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment on every site, regardless of location or conditions.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Field Service Engineer, field technician, or equivalent technical role with demonstrated understanding of project workflows.
- Journeyman Certification in pipe trades such as Plumbing, HVAC, Steam Fitting, or similar; strong expertise in hydronic systems preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of technical cooling system loops and various loop configurations.
- Demonstrated experience in mission-critical environments, including Tier 3 or Tier 4 data centers or equivalent.
- Proficiency with pipe materials and joining methods including plastic fusion, Victaulic piping, and associated clamping and torquing requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook, with the ability to document work to established standards.
- Valid passport with eligibility for international travel and security clearance processes.
- Ability to perform frequent heavy lifting of up to 150 lbs with a partner and maintain a functional remote home office setup.
- Availability to travel up to 65% of the time, including internationally, subject to applicable restrictions.
Benefits
- The opportunity to join a globally recognized and highly profitable technology infrastructure company during a period of rapid international growth.
- A visible leadership role with meaningful influence on customer strategy, revenue performance, and market expansion.
- A collaborative, fast-paced culture centered on innovation, accountability, and customer impact.
- Competitive compensation and comprehensive health benefits starting on day one.
- Paid vacation, flex days, and a company-wide holiday shutdown.
- A casual yet professional work environment.
- Retention-focused rewards, including additional vacation and monetary recognition tied to tenure.
