Job Description

The Zone Mechanic will have a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment on all systems. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, central utility plant operations) and be multi-skilled in others in order to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments. The Zone Mechanic assists and serves as back-up to other Facilities employees.

Education

High school diploma or GED required.

Experience

Three to five years general commercial maintenance experience working in at least one relevant trade in a commercial, industrial, facilities operations, or a healthcare setting. This needs to include knowledge and applicable skills in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance in commercial electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, boilers, or HVAC systems. (Residential-only experience is insufficient for this position.)

Certification & Licensures

Certification as a Journeyman, Apprentice, or in a commercial building-specific trade (E.g. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, BAS, etc.), or already working towards a certification preferred. Must have a valid driver's license (over 21 year old and less than -4 points on their driver's license).
