Responsibilities Include: - Develops and leads continuous test activities in close coordination with the agile development/integration teams and other teams on the program - Defines, plans and performs test assignments for large scale, complex, software and hardware systems - Establishes automated and manual test methods and techniques, develops test plans and requirements, writes test procedures and reports, and conducts tests - Collaborate with developers to create the appropriate automated and manual tests for software, interfaces, features, stories, workflows, etc - Participates in test readiness reviews and design reviews - Applies software development experience and knowledge to ensure test validity, integrity, quality, and execution - Conducts tests which include collaborating closely with others in establishing language, database, and computer requirements along with configuration management techniques - Performs test planning and implementation using state-of-the-art technologies, processes, and frameworks (e.g. SAFe or similar framework) - Develops and maintains test documentation including plans, procedures, reports, etc. - Analyzes test results and accurately discuss them with management and teams - Documents and keeps program management informed of deviations from customer requirements Required Skills: - U.S. Citizenship - Active Secret clearance.  Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance - Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability - This is a Hybrid position, but remote work will be considered - 8+ years of directly relevant experience, ideally in an agile environment - 4+ years of automated and/or manual test experience - Excellent and applicable experience with Agile Continuous Development / Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery along with hands-on experience with automated test tools such as Docker, Jenkins, JIRA, Git, Ansible, JMeter, RSpec, Cucumber, Jest,  React Testing Library, Selenium Web Driver, Mocha, Jasmine, Chai, Karma, Enzyme, Cypress.io, Puppeteer, testing React applications and other industry-leading tools and techniques - 2+ years' experience developing software with Java, Cucumber, Gherkin or similar language in an agile environment - Hands-on and meaningful experience with automated test tools, Selenium preferred - Experience with requirements development and management along with associated - Ability to plan and conduct security testing - Meaningful and relevant experience in developing test procedures - Experience with systems engineering and configuration management processes - Able to generate test-related documentation as necessary - Excellent teamwork skills including ability to work well with agile development teams, customers, and coworkers at all levels - Ability to work collaboratively across agencies and physical locations Desired Skills: - Experience with automated and manual testing processes - Hands-on DevOps or DevSecOps experience - Technical understanding of cybersecurity attack techniques and associated mitigation techniques - Experience and/or familiarity with one of more of the following program languages: Java, Perl, Ruby, Python, and JavaScript - Experience and/or familiarity with one of more of the following database technologies: SQL, Oracle, MySQL, JBDC, NOSQL - DHS experience - Experience working in a cloud environment such as AWS or Azure Required Education: BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Systems Engineering.  Two years of related work experience may be substituted for each year of degree level education. Genex Systems is looking for an Expert Technician (ET) to assist engineers in conducting engineering research projects for the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) at the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center (TFHRC). The ET will be assigned to the Structures Laboratory (STR Lab) at TFHRC. The STR Lab focuses on the execution of applied engineering research relying on the full-scale testing of bridges, bridge components, and components of other highway-related structures. This includes physical experiments in hydraulically operated test frames, design and fabrication of testing equipment and specimens, field testing, analysis of laboratory and field data, and computational structural mechanics (CSM) modeling. Responsibilities: Assist the FHWA and Structures Research Engineers in the execution of research projects and to maintain the state of good repair of the laboratory. Duties may include but not be limited to installing/calibrating/maintaining laboratory equipment, maintaining/installing software for specialized laboratory equipment, rigging, conducting complex movements of heavy items with overhead cranes, forklifts, and/or other rigging equipment, conducting standardized materials tests, operation of servo- valve hydraulic equipment, erection of load frames, setting up sensors and data collection systems, and metallography specimen preparation. Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor of Science degree with two years of engineering technician experience or completion of at least four years of technical training in engineering, engineering technician skills, computer science, electronics, or mechatronics. Must have a good level of mechanical aptitude, basic computer skills (including proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel, and ability to use specialized software for hydraulic and instrumentation systems), and ability to comprehend construction plan drawings. Must be familiar with hydraulic testing systems and basic instrumentation systems for collecting data. Able to lift 50 lbs. Requires US citizenship or valid work visa with 3 years residency in the US.
