Job Description
- Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
- Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures and maintain control records
- Monitor network performance to determine whether adjustments are needed and where changes will be needed in the future
- Configure, monitor, and maintain email applications or virus protection software
- Train users in computer system use
- Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records
- Respond and document cloud application issues escalated by Tier 1 resources or captured by cloud monitoring tools.
- Off-Hours Support: Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours or weekend support.
- Continuously monitor cloud activity, usage, performance, cost, and security using cloud monitoring tools and technology.
- Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve application performance issues, escalating as needed to resolve more complex issues.
- Ensure adherence to organizational information security policies and procedures; actively participate in mandatory security awareness training; and manage confidential and sensitive information in accordance with company protocols and data protection standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field, or relevant work experience
- 1 year of experience as a System Administrator, or prior experience as a Help Desk technician
- Understanding of networking protocols, LAN networking, and WAN networking
- Ability to evaluate networks and systems to make sure that they perform reliably and to anticipate new requirements as organizations’ needs change
- Able to explain technical concepts and processes to non-IT workers
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems that arise with computer networks and systems
- Programming skills and the ability to work with a variety of computer hardware and software tools
- A+, Network+, and/or similar certifications are highly preferred
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- This is a 100% remote position working under US East Coast standard hours
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's and client facilities.
- The employee is expected to demonstrate proficiency in all essential job functions, tools, and processes related to this position within the first 90 days of employment. This includes acquiring a thorough understanding of job-specific responsibilities, systems, and workflows as outlined during onboarding and training. Failure to meet this requirement may result in additional training, reassessment, or other actions as deemed necessary by management.
