The Role As the Director, Design, you will serve as the principal creative leader at Praxis. You will shape the visual and experiential expression of the Praxis brand across all touchpoints, from large-scale event productions and podcast sound stages to print materials, web design, and social media content. This is a unique opportunity to lead by guiding and doing—to conceptualize, prototype, and craft the experiences that define Praxis, working with both internal and external collaborators. The ideal candidate relishes the canvas of creation, embracing every medium and scale. Key Areas of Responsibility Operational Excellence & Iteration Build and refine systems, processes, and tools for GTM delivery, analytics, and ongoing optimization. Lead a Praxis Media learning agenda—establishing priorities for channel experimentation, performance testing, and responsive iteration. Report findings and propose strategic adjustments based on audience insights, funnel metrics, and GTM performance. Brand Leadership & Strategy Develop reimagined visual brand identity systems for all organizational touchpoints. Lead and manage the Praxis brand identity across all channels (digital, print, experiential, and environmental). Champion and evolve brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and innovation across all outputs. Creative Direction & Production Drive projects from vision to execution through both direction and hands-on design work, ensuring extraordinary visual outcomes. Execute large-scale creative projects across events, digital experiences, and print. Lead creative development for major initiatives including Summit, Studio, Regional Gatherings, and Activate events. Rapid Prototyping & Innovation Translate concepts into high-fidelity prototypes at speed across all mediums. Establish rapid prototyping systems for cross-channel deployment (social strategy, go-to-market). Integrate emerging creative technologies and methods into design practice. Team Collaboration & Mentorship Guide and inspire designers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. Foster a culture of playful experimentation, creative excellence, and generous feedback. Contribute to organizational storytelling and cross-functional creative initiatives. Key Competencies Mastery across a range of design disciplines: digital, print, experiential, and environmental. Fluency with design tools and workflows (Figma, Keynote, Canva, Adobe suite, prototyping platforms, etc.). Skillfully integrate and streamline design processes through Praxis’ suite of productivity tools (Airtable, Slack, Asana, Notion). Proven experience directing and delivering complex, multi-channel creative projects. Strength in communicating across disciplines and translating abstract vision into finished work. Impeccable visual acumen with an ability to uphold and elevate brand standards. Rapid prototyping and iteration skills; comfortable in highly collaborative, feedback-rich settings. Thoughtful leadership and a spirit of humility, curiosity, and innovation. Experience building and/or scaling creative systems and teams. Ideal Prior Experience 7+ years in design, creative director or similar roles, including significant start-up or 0-1 launch experience. World-class portfolio of design work that demonstrates re-brand / re-positioning, and multiple design disciplines (digital, print, experiential). The Role

As the Director, Design, you will serve as the principal creative leader at Praxis. You will shape the visual and experiential expression of the Praxis brand across all touchpoints, from large-scale event productions and podcast sound stages to print materials, web design, and social media content. This is a unique opportunity to lead by guiding and doing—to conceptualize, prototype, and craft the experiences that define Praxis, working with both internal and external collaborators. Key Areas of Responsibility

Operational Excellence & Iteration

  • Build and refine systems, processes, and tools for GTM delivery, analytics, and ongoing optimization.
  • Lead a Praxis Media learning agenda—establishing priorities for channel experimentation, performance testing, and responsive iteration.
  • Report findings and propose strategic adjustments based on audience insights, funnel metrics, and GTM performance.

Brand Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop reimagined visual brand identity systems for all organizational touchpoints. 
  • Lead and manage the Praxis brand identity across all channels (digital, print, experiential, and environmental).
  • Champion and evolve brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and innovation across all outputs.

Creative Direction & Production

  • Drive projects from vision to execution through both direction and hands-on design work, ensuring extraordinary visual outcomes.
  • Execute large-scale creative projects across events, digital experiences, and print.
  • Lead creative development for major initiatives including Summit, Studio, Regional Gatherings, and Activate events. 

Rapid Prototyping & Innovation

  • Translate concepts into high-fidelity prototypes at speed across all mediums.
  • Establish rapid prototyping systems for cross-channel deployment (social strategy, go-to-market).
  • Integrate emerging creative technologies and methods into design practice.

Team Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Guide and inspire designers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
