  • Develop and maintain a structured BOM (Bill Of Materials)
  • Coordinate with factory engineering to ensure the product is manufacturable and meets the costing requirements defined in the product specification
  • Determine and maximize container utilization and package size
  • Develop DFMEAs, complete strength and fatigue analysis of all design proposals to ensure the product meets the design requirements. Conduct testing to validate strength and fatigue analysis.
  • Meet all project milestones and deadlines

Production Transition support:

  • Review quality and inspection data, perform product sample reviews and make design decisions, support value-add / value-engineer opportunities for cost and manufacturing efficiency
  • Support and troubleshoot the introduction of new products into mass production, developing functional requirements and test plans.
  • Assist Asia-based engineering and factory manufacturing teams on design requirements

Requirements

Education:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field required

Experience:

  • 7+ years of mechanical design experience
  • Experience w/ plastic injection molding a plus
  • Experience designing consumer products preferred

Other Requirements:

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with hobbies or projects showcasing your passion for design
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with numerous diverse groups and individuals
  • Ability and desire to mentor less experienced team members
