A Successful FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer Will:Design & Technical Execution
  • Skilled in Adobe Illustrator:  Provide intermediate to expert level vector design, including preparing low-resolution art for large-format output and recreating/vectorizing raster logos to ensure crisp, clean production. 
  • Design with the "End-in-Mind": Translate the customer’s visual goals and brand identity into high-impact layouts. You will determine the optimal size and arrangement of materials by balancing aesthetic appeal with the physical constraints of the space and—critically—the specific production and installation requirements for our sign builders. 
  • Technical Precision: Use a strong sense of geometry including dimensions, angles, proportions, and mathematical spacing to ensure designs are legible at scale and physically ready for output. 
  • Image Management: Source photos, understand copyright/usage laws, and manage resolution specifications to ensure optimal enlargement from originals.
Operational Excellence & Workflow
  • Manage the Workload: Prioritize tasks and work autonomously on multiple projects simultaneously. Be accountable for meeting deadlines and allocating appropriate time to each Work Order.
  • Follow Best Practices: Read and interpret Work Orders accurately. Adhere to established brand standards for file storage and customer logo libraries without "reinventing the wheel."
  • Quality Control: Inspect all jobs for accuracy before sending them to output (print). Ensure the correct material and output device settings are selected.
  • Collaborate: Work with co-workers and customers on file transfers, FTP access, and online proofs. Communicate clearly with the Sales team on requirements and the Production team on job input/output.
Production & Team Support
  • Support the Center: Assist with basic sign production, including weeding vinyl, lamination, and mounting graphics to substrates. Perform routine machine maintenance as needed.
  • Growth Mindset: Stay curious and proactively seek more efficient ways to work, such as utilizing JSX scripts or AI prompting to streamline design workflows and improve center productivity. 
Ideal Qualifications:
  • Technical Skill: Intermediate to Expert level in Adobe Illustrator is a must.
